Anyone else have a bad interaction while on lisinopril?
On the med for about two weeks.
When I experience heart rhythm issues and a spike in blood pressure. I admit I made some mistakes. And that I did not know you could use ibuprofen eat bananas or use nasal spray. The effect of the med was only a mild drop in blood pressure. So I decided to go off of it for a while. To my surprise, I found that a simple workout supplement that raises nitric oxide in the blood.Seem to offer more relief. My question is, why are we not working on dilating? The blood vessel over preventing the narrowing of it

I took lisinopril for about two months.
My wife noticed that I started saying some scary things, like life wasn't worth living anymore and that I wished I were dead. Plus, I was very listless and withdrawn.
Alarmed, she told me to stop taking it.
On my own, I had noticed I was often dizzy upon standing. (As a stroke patient, that is a very dangerous condition, as falls can be hazardous.)
Long story short, I quit taking it and felt better almost immediately.

3 ReactionsMy whole family developed a dry cough on lisinopril (PRINIVIL, etc. ) My father also developed a squeaky voice. Angiotensin converting enzyme inhibitors [ACEis] affect almost 30%. In our case annoying sensitivity was the result. A 'cousin' class of drugs worked. Angiotensin II enzyme reuptake blockers [ARBs], i.e., Losartan (ARBIL, etc.)

1 ReactionI was recently diagnosed with kidney disease and my Nephrologist put me on Lisinopril, stating it would provide protective factors to my kidneys. I experienced the frequent dizziness, usually upon standing. I also got waves of nausea with the dizziness that were brief but happened 1-3 times daily. The other side effect I experienced was a significant increase in anxiety, when I had no previous issues. After 6 months on the medication, losing 25 lbs, and receiving excellent lab reports, he took me off of it. I didn't connect how much better I feel to the Lisinopril until I read this. Thank you for sharing!

3 ReactionsI developed a slight dry cough.
I took it for many years but then the doctors took me off of it because it was causing me to get pancreatitis
Thank you for raising this issue. I am on lisinopril and noticed the side effects like leg cramps after eating bananas and some dizzyness. Can you share the suplement you found helpful?
I’ve been on Lisinopril 6 weeks. I became lethargic with serious brain fog and light headedness. I also had pain in my joints. I was told it would get better but honestly it got much worse. I started having extreme panic attacks that left me drained and thinking I was insane. I almost checked into a hospital before I learned about this side effect. Starting today I will no longer take lisinopril or any meds for blood pressure. Hopefully I will get better in a few days and will do natural things like diet and exercise to lower blood pressure!

1 ReactionThat was almost exactly the reaction I had.
I became very depressed, too.
My wife noticed it, about two weeks after I started.
No more ACE inhibitors for me.

1 Reaction@musicguy - Thanks for sharing. I've been on lisinopril for years, what about 3 months ago develop the same symptoms you describe. Very lightheadedness or dizzy, and tired. Every told me it's not the medication. Because I had been on it for years without a problem. Could you? Please let me know if your symptoms clear up? I'm going to discontinue these temporarily and call my Dr. Thank you!
