Anyone else diagnosed with MAC & Bronchiectasis without symptoms?
I recently had a chest CT scan to check on calcium buildup in my heart (to help see if I needed a statin). Well, calcium is fine, but Radiologist said I have lung damage. Said it's probably NTM caused by MAC & also mentioned Bronchiectasis. My only symptom is a bad cough when I'm sick, which hasn't happened for 2 years. Seeing a pulmonologist next week who specialized in IDL. Has anyone else inadvertently found MAC when they have no symptoms? I'm hoping this means that it was caught early and can be treated.

Just do the oral antibiotics and take probiotics, eat healthy foods, include brown rice gut binding food. Get tips from others who have done the treatment, some people breeze through others don’t. You might surprise yourself. Talk to the doctors about taking meds at different times of the day if you happen to have bad side effects. Good luck!
I am symptom-free. Just had a second visit with my respirologist after my second CT scan. Very slight progression in one area of lungs and improvement in another. I elected again not to start antibiotics, which my doc was fine with. He reiterated that the antibiotic treatment can have side-effects so watchful waiting is a good option if the patient choses this.
I have no success with daily airway clearance since I don't naturally produce much mucus. He suggests I try an Aerobika device (pulsating inhaler) to see if it can help me.
