Anybody achieve full remission within one year?

In searching, this forum, which has been very helpful in many ways, but it lacks anything positive regarding successful remission of PMR which I would define as no predinizone, and pain less than 2.

Yes one month crippling for me as well, could not dress, (tried 3bras before I could get one on)couldn’t do house work, get in bathtub, get myself out of bed or chair at times, open pill bottle .. and on top of that nausea, fluish but not exactly and fever and chills , .. and also live alone. Took 7 trips to Dr to get diagnosis. Prednisone stopped symptoms within a day.

These good news postings are very encouraging. But it is obviously not that smooth going for many of you, I am also relying on my God to keep me positive through this experience. My journey has been, so far, one of the easier ones. May our God keep you all in his care.

@queenshort YES. I felt much much better 4 hours after my first shot of prednisone. The very cool doc who was treating me said that kind of reaction is diagnostic of PMR. A week later he was having fun with the miracle cure and he was acting angry at me that I was not needing his services any more. He threw me out in fun. That humor and joy was also curative imo.

This all took place over a conversation, of praise, thank yous etc. Update….
.today saw Rehumy…..🎂 to me…. 🥂

State/plead my case….to 🛑 Kevzara
Good blood work
Pain free for ages
2 yr anniversary of PMR onset, like GREAT
11 months Kevzara
4months at 3 wk interval and no pain (why not give it a try?) off prednisone for 8 months.
Healthy active and 79yo female way ahead of the average patient of that age
No other medical issues.

Ok…..🛑 Kevzara, re test blood 2 months
Assume no issues
Re test blood 2 more months
Follow up appt after that.

So here’s my reply to a fellow bloggers ….. stop coping and start living!……Kathleen, thx for asking…..
I am a 79yo female abt to be 80, loving life and very fortunate…..I live in SW, great weather to encourage outdoor activities. Live in an 8000 acre gated community with more ways to “live life to the fullest”, and lots of “playmates”. Sun, hike, bike golf, pool, fitness Ctr , great friends, and wonderful support group are my everyday blessings, and terrific hubby of 56 yrs.
How did I get here….
When at my lowest, my support group gave me hope and promise, and the view was and is always sunny. My physical savior is my trainer whose specialty is Functional Movement. She uses her fingers and hands (not massage) to wake up the sleepy spots, TVT is the latest technique. In addition, weights, TRX, ball, everything that is my weight based. No machines. Lastly, after 3 months to diagnosis I met an orthopedic consultant (who has PMR) who sent me to Aqua PT….sure makes you feel like living. I was able to take those exercises to the club pool where I live.
BTW: my support group includes all of this fabulous group, too.
Yes, I might be numerically old, but my life far surpasses that of many people. I’m not looking for CCRC. I’m looking for the next new restaurant, bike trip, travel, game, whatever. Yes, living life to the fullest and proud of it. I am blessed and very fortunate.
