Any women over 50 on HRT for symptoms?

Posted by nat1970 @nat1970, Feb 13 1:58am

I’m supposed to start hrt Im post menopause but still have some symptoms, and family history of osteoporosis and heart issues. I heard nightmares about some women having reactions to progesterone. Has anyone had a good experience?

Hi
My breast cancer is called DCIS which means ductal carcinoma insitu. That means it's in the milk ducts and has not spread outside them The cancer tested positive for estrogen and progesterone. So it was caused by hormones. Which means i can't take hrt because it can increase my hormones which can possibly cause more cancer.

I am on hrt and they want me to take another mammogram. I took 2 tests already. Was it hard to stop taking the hrt?

I agree with you 100%. I miss my Premarin so very much. I was on it until age 74 from my fifties. I realize that is long but it was helpful for my bones too. Now that I am off it due to a couple of TIA’s I sure miss it as I have menopause hot flashes continually. Better than having a stroke, but I do miss it a lot! Irene 5
