I can’t post links because I’m a new member but when I hurt my back I wore corsets from corset story or cheap spine support bras and lumbar support belts from Shein. My specialist told me I needed to strengthen my back muscles or they could atrophy, so I didn’t wear the garments for long or anything, just if I needed to get something done and I was feeling very uncomfortable.

Hi there! Perhaps you could try Dr Ho’s belt. I originally bought it for very bad sciatica pain. It was a godsend! Now I rarely have any pain and if I do it is mild and may last for a minute or two. I also use it for lower back support as it acts as a brace. It comes with a pump that expands the belt beyond it’s original width. I put it on for a while first thing every morning, for housework, gardening, etc…. I have had it for a good number of years now and have never had to replace it. It is not a gimmick. It WORKS! Please consider it. Take care.

You can try Salonpas lidocaine pain patches and capsaicin creams. You may have some nerve pain/irritated nerves. You can also take ibuprofen or other NSAIDS for muscle inflammation or use Ice/heat interchangeably if you have irritated/inflamed muscles.

Building core, stomach and back muscles through gentle stretch and strength exercises can help. My suggestion is Miranda Edmonds White’s classical stretch/Essentrics exercise videos. She is in her 70s I believe and was a former classical ballet dancer.

Good luck!

I've had this for many years. One helpful thing is not to stand, sit, walk slowly, for long periods. Stop these things: lifting, push and pulling jobs that you know are too much. Then stand, sit and walk straight with you intentionally sucking in your stomach. It helps the core muscles get stronger. I got it from my doctor. If I do as I should, I feel so much better, then I get lazy and pay the price. I do have this belt thing that you can pump up to help separate the back bone. I can pump it until I feel my separation giving some relief. It is bulky. Doctor prescribed it. Medicare covered it.

Have you seen your primary about this? You probably have a pinched/compressed nerve. The problem with braces are they can weaken your muscles and they are rarely recommended for adults with spinal issues. Doing physical therapy is much more appropriate because it actually builds the muscles up versus possibly weakening the muscles. Belts are more geared toward lifting things, whereas the issues you report are more geared toward bending and twisting. I hope you end up seeking medical care. Best wishes

I have tried every kind of brace there is ,but what has helped me and changed my life is building your core muscles. Once you have strength those muscles you will start feeling stronger in your on skin . You want need those restrictive braces. Once your core muscles are strong enough you should start working on your posture. This will help you feel better about yourself and you will look good. You can work on all of these areas at one time to get a better body weight and type. I’ve started working on pertain parts of my body each day. You should never have the same exercise routine changing up your routine will confuse your body but that. Is a good thing.Try it out for three or four months and see how you feel. I’m hoping it will work for you. For instance:
Monday:Glutes/Abs/cardio
Tuesday upper body and core
We’d.: legs/cardio
Thursday:Full body
Saturday:Glutes/ads/cardio

The gold standard by physical therapist and doctors is the Aspen back brace try to get a script from your doctor. I think the cost is about $500 but your insurance will pay for it . When I am having an extremely high pain day I put it on for just an hour or so And it seems to lessen the pain ? They are not meant to wear for long periods of time as they can weaken the muscles but mine has been godsend. Good luck.
