Yes Camp Lejuene Marine here!
I have a case that met the deadline of 2024. My attorney told me that the monetary amount offered was too small to even consider so they are holding out for more.
I submitted 5 disability claims to the VA in which all were denied. I have an attorney firm that appealed the denials but they were denied as well.
Now they appealed to higher court. One has been reviewed and overturned by the judge and I will receive compensation for tinnitus linked to toxic water.
I have 3 being reviewed by a judge and 1 waiting to be sent to a judge.
It’s a long process but I sure hope the judge finds favor in my case.
How about you?

Did the DoD or the VA contact you to tell you that you were at risk? Have you contacted your local VSO? Were they any help? I have an appointment at the local VA Hospital this coming week, thus far meetings with the VA have been good.

1 Reaction@antonone1 yes, over the past 20+ years I have been receiving letters of being at risk.
I never thought of filing a claim because throat cancer was not listed. But a couple years ago while in Las Vegas I happened to be sitting by a group of attorneys and they overheard a conversation I was having about my cancer and Camp Lejuene.
They informed me as to the importance of filing a claim before the April 2024 deadline. After I got back home I decided to get a law firm involved to file the claim and they told me to also file disability claims with the VA as well so I did.
No I haven’t been to our local VSA, and I have my first VA medical appointment next week.
I’m hoping to get prescriptions and hearing aids but we shall see?
Glad you’re getting help from VSA, it’s a long road for sure!

1 Reaction@antonone1 No one ever contacted me about the risk. I found puit the hard, got up one morning 2 years ago and bled into the toilet profusely. After meeting with a GP, a number of tests and scans and a urologist, it was determined I had bladder cancer and an operation was
scheduled. It did not go well, 2 days after the operation to remove the tumour, I was back in the hospital.
@antonone1 where you able to get your claim in for the lawsuit in time?
Did the VA qualify you for health benefits and disability compensation?
Mojo
The VA approved my claim for disability and health benefits in 2024. A fellow Vet (Army) and long time friend put in contact with a VSO and who told me what and how to claim benefits. I never needed to file a lawsuit

1 Reaction@antonone1 the lawsuit is separate from the VA benefits. It was recommended to pursue both.
I’m sure hoping I get disability ratings for a few more of my VA claims.
As for the Camp Lejuene suit, nobody is holding their breath on that one, it will take several years to get anything if there’s anything to get?
