Anxiety emotion past feelings
I’m in choir this year for the first time in my 78 years. I’m singing a song “Sweet Hallelujah” written by Mark A. Miller. I’m practice it now with a recorded session on my lap top and I get to the last measures and I break out with tears and feelings so hard that I have to sit down and cry. I try it again and it got worse…

Sometimes unexpected things stir past emotions. I know odd situations remind me how much I miss my mom. Usually, it is something that makes me wish I could share it with her.
I looked at your lyrics, but not sure which lines are stirring your emotions. Do you care to share the lyrics that triggered your emotions, and do you know why?

3 ReactionsThe song is mostly 90% hallelujah and I creamed it at the end of the song with tears running down my face. I am going back 70 years to experiences in childhood. I feel that scary feeling that I can’t control and never could.

Can you describe the scary feeling you feel like you can't control, stsopoci?

2 ReactionsMusic is so powerful ! I enjoy most, but have been a classical pianist/harpsichordist most of my life…also spent time co-founding and running a chamber orchestra and touring Viennese ensemble…I loved seeing people’s reactions…the Viennese music stirred many memories among the elders of European background. Always happy to share love of music……my special love is Latin, Cuban and Caribbean music—cannot remain still—just gotta dance !!

You are so kind to help us during these mentally scary moments. I performed 6 nights a week in the 70’s in a typical nightclub 7 piece group. I miss those times…I also was a high school teacher during that time. In the early 80’s I went back to school and then got out of music and teaching that I loved and went into IT computer software work for 31 years and then I retired. I love musicals so I get into them when I can because I’m extremely angry that I had to leave music for those years.

This discussion reminded me of a Mayo Clinic newsfeed, posted several years ago. Based on your comments, I thought you might find it interesting, as it confirms much of what you are saying. The title is "Music Facilitates Healing."
