Angry All the Time.
My DH has a benign brain tumor as well as a cyst on his cerebellum. He also has mild cognitive decline and was diagnosed with Alzheimer’s a year ago. Every time he is around his family I see the effects and aftermath. They are still asking him for favors as if he is well.
He moved one sister in 90 degree heat and drove her around for a couple days afterwards even though she has her own car. Ever since then he’s spiraled. I have no idea if the strain of moving her is what’s causing it but he’s angry all the time now. Yelling in my face. He even got angry at my son who expressed real concern over my husband taking the dog out for a walk in the middle of the day in 100 degree heat on asphalt.
He’s listening to angry political podcasts. He will listen to the same episode over and over not realizing he already heard it. He has changed so much in just a couple weeks, it scares me. I don’t know what to do. Or what to say to his doctor. I tried talking to his family and they said I was controlling him and abusing him. That he’s fine.

I think from what you describe, he needs help to calm him down and you need to stay safe. If he's that angry, what might he do? And I do think you need to contact his doctor, through his portal if you can, and tell the doctor exactly what's going on. He may need some type of medication to control his anger and get him calmer. Or maybe any meds he's already on, are playing havoc with him. I'm not a doctor, but I do know from what you describe, it doesn't sound like a safe environment for either of you to be in. As for talking to his family; talk to his doctor. And let the doctor communicate with his family. Maybe then, they'll get a picture of what you're up against. Hope this helps. Best, Karla

2 ReactionsPlease talk to his doctor. Submit what you wrote here through the portal. His health and safety is your main concern. He is not making wise decisions.

3 ReactionsI agree with the comments, you need to talk with his doctor. I had a similar situation and was accepting it as part of his disease, but once a family member brought it up we had a referral to a neuropsychiatrist it was resolved with medication. It was causing sleep issues so we started there because he would agree with that.
