Almost dead from Long COVID! HELP!!!!!

I’ve had long Covid for almost 2 years I’ve lost over 70 pounds and been in bed the whole time because I’m so tired I can’t get out of it! My voice is gone from mucus drainage I can’t breathe, I can’t think and at times I think I’m going crazy! I’m just give out! Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated😢! Thanks

I’ve had long term Covid since February 2022. I had it in my gut and unfortunately it’s made my medical conditions so much worse.

I am in pain through my abdomen constantly. I hardly ever want to eat because it is beyond debilitating. I sleep most of the time, or I am super emotional from the pain. I find myself crying at the weirdest things.

The emotional upheaval is common for long-haulers. Long haul certainly affects mental health, causes depression and increases anxiety. I took Tryptophan (single amino acid 1,000mg before bed on an empty stomach) and that helps with serotonin levels, as well as red blood cell production. I felt an immediate difference, within 2-3 days.

Have you done anything to help your gut health? i.e. anti-inflammatory diet and low histamine foods?

Please check out resources for the Epstein Barr virus, It has been associated with Covid long haulers and COvid vaccine injury. Because the docs are clueless in so many medical situations, sufferers have gathered together too share their experiences of what has helped them overcome the effects of activation of the EBV (Epstein. Barr Virus. Two long hauler groups that have helped many people are Stuff that Works and Facebook Cocid Long Haulers. I have used Lysiine 500 mg plus olive leaf extract 500mg plus Inspired Nutrition scoop of MONOLAURN/ all 3 twice a day, I took other antiviral supplements but was helped most by eliminating gluten and dairy and protocol described herein. MOST people who are making some progress are sharng options that helped other long haulers. Best wishes for your recovery.

Agreed! I found a LOT of great information in the Covid long-haulers group on Facebook and so many great resources are being shared there. I already ate pretty anti-inflammatory (no refined sugars, no gluten, no dairy) but learning about low histamine foods was extremely helpful for me, as well as the anti-histamine protocol (some combination of Pepcid AC as well as Claritin, I don't remember exactly but it WORKS, because each block a certain type of histamine receptor). Also, various ways to reset your nervous system, including the vagal nerve. This information is GOLD.

I have not read anything at all on what I am experiencing, but I will share anyway because it is really weird. About 10 days ago I awoke to the lower portion of my face swollen. Two of my doctors and my dentist ( I am having some work done) have no idea why this has happened. A week later I awoke to find a lump on either side of my neck. I have had a chest CT because my voice is hoarse without being sore, and a neck CT. The conclusion is that I have prominent Buccal fat pads in my face and Lipomas within my neck. I find it strange that both of these swellings just popped up and are bilateral. I have had long covid since February and spent three weeks in the hospital Oct/Nov last year. Blood work indicates that at some time in my life I had EBV. News to me. I am 73 and have lost so much of my quality of life. One thing after the other. Anyone else experiencing this?

I'm so very sorry, this sounds very uncomfortable. I did not experience that type of swelling but I did have aching in my teeth/gums/jaw and eventually had to have a molar tooth pulled out because there was a massive hole that completely stumped the dentist and endodontist. It never caused me specific pain in that tooth, so was not typical decay. BUT with that being said, please don't try to treat these symptoms one by one -- you must treat the root cause and imbalances in the body.

Most people that react badly to Covid and/or the vaccination already have Epstein Barr in their system. EBV is very very common, so it would not be unusual for someone to have it in their system and not know it. Did you ever have mononucleosis or "glandular fever"? Then you have EBV.

One way to reset your nervous system, including the vagal nerve, is to do ice baths or switching between very hot and very cold water in the shower. It is pretty terrible at first, I will admit, but if you can tolerate the cold immersion for 2-3 minutes, it does wonders for your body. There is also a long-haul Covid Facebook group with LOTS of excellent information. You may find additional resources there, and people with similar stories. When I left the group a few months ago, there were 90,000+ participants from around the world. I wish you all the best!

You MUST supplement to give your body what it needs to recover, and please do not try to exercise or over-exert your body in any way. If you start with ONE thing, take vitamin B-3 (niacinamide form, non-flushing, 500mg, 2-3x per day). B-3 is the precursor to NAD in the body and your body absolutely needs NAD for all physical processes. For some people, B-3 alone works.

You can also take glutathione in pill form or even in an IV, if you are desperate to get a large quantity into your body quickly. Glutathione is also VERY needed for a number of physical processes in the body. I have taken both and continue to, even though I healed long-haul a number of months ago. Taurine is also an amino acid, also needed for nervous system and cellular health. These 3 things are a total game changer, I promise. Also you need to eat anti-inflammatory (no sugar, no dairy, lots of veggies) and low histamine. All the best to you!

You might want to look at STASIS breathing program. It's a breathing retraining program that was designed originally for the military but is claimed to be effective in long COVID by the Mount Sinai Long COVID clinic. I have found relief with it.

I’m pretty f&#ked up all over my body and exhausted all the time to the point I just stop trying to get out of the bed unless my parents call me because they need help then I’ll get up and go help them then come back and get in the bed and I am double exhausted when that happens!
But the thing that worries me most is how f&#ked up my head is😞! I have no feeling in my brain wants the whatever I don’t care about anything I just lay in the bed and don’t talk to anyone because that’s all I feel like doing😞!
The drainage from congestion is the second thing it has destroyed my voice I can’t swallow and my mouth is always full of a slick frothy snot like substance😞!

Again I have no quality of life right now😞!

I believe you. Same thing happened to me. Emergency room nurse asked “What’s that?” when I went in 2 months ago...
My husband and I didn’t believe our ears!
It’s my 2 yr anniversary fighting long haul Covid. I am 90% better and cannot attribute it to anything a doctor said or did....because they didn’t. I saw 5 neurologists, a rheumatologist, and others. All my bloodwork came back normal. 14 vials of blood, EMG, among other tests...all normal and I was horribly ill and in pain. So I proceeded to research and keep abreast of all attempts at explaining long haul Covid. And I am on 43 supplements now. I always did supplements, but I have added those that have been supported for long haul. I always have eaten healthy. I’m on no meds ...never have been. I decided that since my tests were normal and the fatigue was really the worst imaginable...that I would have to fight against it. So I slowly made myself follow a routine of brief exercise and worked my way back up to 45 minutes of daily at home exercise....weights, 20 mins walking on treadmill, resistance bands....and supplements big time. Laying in bed atrophies the muscles and weakens the bones. So if you don’t force yourself to move you will only get worse.
I am one of the only ones still wearing a mask at the supermarket and I wear it proudly. The fatigue lingers but no where near how bad it was.
I think the worst thing anyone does is to tell themself they can’t move...If you can’t get up and walk down the street and back...you need to be in rehab. The pain I had in thighs, back, arms for many months is gone. I still have tingling in my lower legs and bottom of feet. But no one told me it’s terminal so with a hope and a prayer and movement maybe it will repair. I’m convinced the virus residuals lingered in our bodies and its a slow process to rid ourselves of the inflammation...but I’m proof it can be done. Clean your house, dust, vacuum....anything to move. Moan if you have to but move!!!
