Thanks but did you ever have issues with clothing that had elastic that would cause pain around your thighs or on your waist at all. What were your symptomns of the meralgia p?
I wear shorts most of the time and they are loose fitting, so they really didn't cause any particular discomfort. But if I were to put my hand in my pocket or lightly touch my thigh it would hurt. If I heavily pressed on it, no problem. Very strange. But as for elastic like on my shorts or underwear, they were in an area not affected.

Wanted to ask - is it stretchy elastic of any kind you are sensitive to, or a certain type of sewn band, if that makes sense? I really like Vanity Fair underwear - it's super soft and I would only know it was touching my skin if I looked. As for bras (regular ones), I like Hanes the best. No underwire, very soft and minimal. Sports bras - I like All in Motion or Puma the best. Under Armour or Nike are ok, but depends on the model. Hope this helps! I meant underwear. I tried the hanes but the parts wherre the threads are put together if they start coming apart it starts rubbing against my skin and causing pain. I would try sports bras but anytime I've tried them it feels like I'm in a harness and being constricted and suffocated around my chest. So, I don't know if it's the style, the size or just the allodynia/autism

Im not sure if it's the whole garment or not. So far it's been very uncomfortable with my underwear with elastic around the waist, but I have tried softer underwear with no elastic and even without the elastic waist the sides of the underwear where the threads are put together can rub up against my skin and become irritating and painful. So, it's a possibility it could be the whole garment not just the waist.
Simply my opinion, partly based on experience: the elastic material, being synthetic and tightly woven, may aggravate your symptoms of allodynia. As I've said before, shearling lined boots and loose and soft wool like merino work best for me. I think it's because it's airy. The pressure of stretch fabrics like lycra may be misinterpreted as heat.

Yes I have, in October my dermatologist diagnosed me with allodynia, and put me on 300 mg of neurontin
Has anyone diagnosed with allodynia, super sensitive to elastic in their clothing or undergarments?
