After glaucoma surgery has anyone's vision diminished greatly?

I have glaucoma in both eyes. Pressure never higher than 17, generally lower. Surgery performed on one eye after which I cannot read the largest letter on the eye chart with that eye. I have worn trifocals for years prior to surgery with no problem. After surgery trifocals make me feel terrible; I have had 3 different prescriptions. I am having a difficult time dealing with this.

Hi, I have been fighting glaucoma for over 30 years now. My pressure is usually 10-13 taking 3 eye drops daily. I had cataract surgery at age 38, and I'm now 80. I've also had several detached retinas with buckles, and I've had a number of laser treatments to tack down retina and also to help open drains. But I've not had GATT surgery or other type surgeries to reduce pressure. Over a number of years I've lost all central vision in left eye and have lost about 50% of field in right eye. I don't drive anymore. But I can still see well enough to use computer. I'm curious what type of surgery you have had on your eyes? I also wonder if you have thought about visiting one of the eye research centers around the country such as Bascom Palmer in Miami? I have been there several times over the years for an extensive evaluation and recommendations. I hope you will find this online group useful to answer questions and meet others with similar issues. Thank you, Don. I am not sure what type of surgery I had. I see the Dr. in two weeks and will ask. You mentioned Bascom Palmer; my sister in FL is actually being treated by them and has upcoming 2nd glaucoma surgery. I hope this Eye Conditions group will be helpful. Thank you. Linda
