I have had Afib for 5 years. Is it too late to have that Ablation operation. I am a male 67 years old.

Yikes is right!! I’ll call and see what my doctor is doing but I thought 2 months ago when they scheduled the ablation I think it said PVI, but I guess that’s what they’re all called? I’ve been trying to read up on allot of stuff with me never hearing of it all before.. I thought there was only 1 ablation so I didn’t think to ask the doctor..

My brother had to have 3 ablations and the 3rd one worked. Off all heart meds, AFIB fixed. He is 72.

Thank You very much for so much wonderful information. I am going to change heart doctors and get another opinion on my
situation. I take no medicines at all except
for my blood thinner Eliquis which helps
prevent against a stroke.

Thanks for your information I was just diagnosed with afib at age 74 I basically have no symptoms I too take eliquis and metropolol and that's it the specialist who does ablations all the time wants to see me in 6 months.
I have scheduled an appointment with another cardiologist to get a second opinion I will probably just remain on the on the two drugs and not do any thing invasive

I am a 81 year old male with non ischemic cardiomyopathy. I had a super successful ablation 15 months ago with no complications. My cardiologist wouldn’t give me a referral. The procedure cured my afib.
