Thinking about getting pneumonia vaccine. Do you know if that vaccine can cause AFIB? Thanks.

I am new to the area(6 months) and fortunate to have Dr. Ellenbogen who is director of cardiac electrophysiology and pacing at VCU Health. My PCP got me an appointment and his whole staff inspires confidence. He uses the cryo ablation technique. I wore the monitor for 30 days in January and showed 10 short episodes in and out of AFib. This past week I was in AFib for 3 days straight before coming out of it. I use a Kardia device at home which is not as good as professional equipment but it does pick up AFib. My BP was fine but pulse was 40 pts higher. Didnt feel bad just fatigued. Still exercising daily. Going to remember the monitor check after the operation to assess Eliquis, sounds like a great idea. Appreciate the info and the encouragement.

Good day to you. I will try to help you the best I can. I had a frequency ablation provided to me by the wonderful cardiac surgeon, Dr. Boulton at WakeMed in Raleigh. He also repaired my mitral valve and did a LAAC. For your information after that, in consultation with my cardiologist, I wore a cardiac monitor for 30 days and as a result I was able to get off of my blood thinner, Eliquis. I currently only take two medications. One is a baby aspirin and the other is a 12.5 mg beta blocker, metoprolol. I take both of those only once a day. For your information I am almost 79 years old so there will be lots of good days ahead for you.

Sorry, I meant to say radio frequency ablation.
