Aerobika

Posted by zscline @zscline, Dec 30, 2023

I've now seen two or maybe three people refer to the fact that they use this device known as an Aerobika. I would like to know who all uses these and has it proven well worth adding this piece to your daily BE care routine. Thanks ahead for your replies. Much appreciated!

@sueinmn

My Blue Cross covers it if recommended by the pulmonologist or respiratory therapist. I just learned this at my latest visit.

I will have to check with my insurance to see if I could be reimbursed for the supplies I'm buying out of pocket if I have a prescription from a doctor. I know my local respiratory supply company can only supply me with what their supplier provides for them, so their hands are tied also.

Also, @sueinmn, the aeroclipse BAN nebulizers provide a better aerosol dispersal for the lungs and the BAN setting provides mist only when you breathe and not continuously. So I assume that means it the same mist dispersal on either BAN or the continuous setting?

I use an Aerobika and find it effective, easy to use and easy to clean. I was given one and trained how to do pulmonary hygiene with it during a consultation appointment at the Mayo Clinic in Rochester, MN.

I too use the Aerobika, twice daily. My Respirologist promotes this use. Some days seem to have better effect than others, but does help. I usually do it while reading Connect !

I’ve been using my Aerobika in combination with the AD app, after nebulizing with saline.
