Welcome Cherie. I hope you don't mind, but I moved your message to this existing discussion:
- Just diagnosed with Endometrioid Adenocarcinoma: What to expect? https://connect.mayoclinic.org/discussion/adenocarcinoma-1/

I did this so you can connect easily with fellow endometrial cancer patients like @rose53 @ejohn @naturegirl5 @cmb2022 @andrea69 @miriam57 and @valentinaz. Imagine that I just ushered you into the room and introduced you to some of the most supportive and informed women who get it. They've been where you are today.

You're in good hands at Mayo Clinic in Rochester. A few from the group get their care their too and can answer any questions you might have about Mayo etc.

I know you're nervous. Who wouldn't be. You will get more testing to determine the grade and stage, which will help decide what treatment is best for you. This will happen quickly it sounds like.

What helps you to calm your racing thoughts?

@cheriels I'm so glad to hear you have support from your fiance, your loving dog, and your friends. Games and puzzles on your iPad sound like a good way to cope right now.

I had a laparoscopic robotic radical hysterectomy with everything taken including ovaries and fallopian tubes. It was amazing as I was in and out in the same day. My surgeon and the whole team was reassuring. I felt so cared for in the pre-op area and by the nurses in my post-op room. The cancer was staged 1a which is as good as it gets.

Will you let me know when your appointment at Mayo in Rochester is scheduled?

@cheriels FIGO is an abbreviation for The International Federation of Gynecology and Obstetrics. The pathologist looks at your cells that were from your initial biopsy under a microscope and then describes what the cancer cells according to what they look like. Your pathology report assigned Grade 3. You can read about it here.

https://cancer.ca/en/cancer-information/cancer-types/uterine/grading

Here is another Mayo Clinic Connect discussion that mentions FIGO stage and surgery.

Does this help? What other questions do you have?

Hi 68 years old and on July 15 came down with my first UTI with bleeding, thought the bleeding was do to the UTI but after going to see a OBGYN and going to Urgent care first with test and a Pap Smear came back negative to seeing the OBGYN and doing test found out I have have Endometrioid adenocarcinoma, FIGO grade 3. I haven’t been bleeding a lot just more or less spotting and after I wipe when potty. I have had no symptoms, my appetite been awesome, no weight loss, no cramps or back pain what so ever. I just got a call from my OBGYN from Mayo Clinic today so she is referring me to Rochester Mayo Clinic to get me in ASAP. I am hoping it is in early stages cause I have had no symptoms . So nervous. What do they consider advanced stages of this cancer can’t really find a answer? My mind is all over the -lace worrying. I have read most of these stories has helped some what. So glad I have yours who have been through this and facing this as I am. So it sounds like surgery possible a radical hysterectomy. Don’t know, Thanks

Hello @cheriels . I hope you have found a few ways to help with your racing mind; it isn't easy, is it? Like you, I had no symptoms except for the bleeding. I hope you're able to get more answers as soon as possible, and am glad you're here with the rest of us. Let any of us know what other questions you have; we don't have the answers so much as probably a similar experience that may be helpful to you as you start your road at Mayo.

Oh, my dear! What a loss you've suffered. I am so sorry. Honestly, I am continually surprised at how hard these past three years have been for people, and on top of a pandemic, too. I'm glad you find comfort and hope in your faith, and I also hope you have friends that you can depend on. One of the cliches about hard times that I found to be true is that you find out who your friends really are. This is not to be feared, but to be grateful for (at least in my opinion). And now you have this group as virtual friends, so don't forget that we're here.
