HelloI have a questionA patient ia diagnosed with brain tumor and he needs Anti BRAF medications Dabrafenib and tramatenib
Are these available at Mayo Clinic?
Hi @norajoe, yes, at Mayo Clinic some patients with BRAF mutation may be treated with targeted therapies. Dabrafenib (Tafinlar) and trametinib (Mekinist) are typically used for melanoma and thyroid cancers to my understanding. There are also other related targeted therapies such as vemurafenib and cobimetinib and encorafenib + binimetinib. You can see a list of clinical trials here: https://www.mayoclinic.org/departments-centers/brain-tumor-program/sections/clinical-trials/rsc-20439939?page=2
What type of brain tumor is it? Or is it brain metastases?
