A Creed For Caregivers

Posted by bigjoek (Joe Kralicek) @bigjoek, Apr 13 2:27pm

I am a gifted writer (meaning I have no talent for it, it just comes to me)
One of the subjects I wrote on was the caregiver.
Feel free to share with other caregivers!
You are appreciated!!

Your poem is absolutely beautiful!!! Something every caregiver needs to read daily as that role can be so challenging despite the love. Thank you for sharing!

thank you! I am a gifted writer, and share my work willingly! I also have a similar poem from the patients perspective that I'll post here! All told, I've written over 300 pieces to date!
Thank you for your feedback, it lets me know I'm doing His bidding!

The second poem is beautiful as well, Joe. Yes, God definitely gave the gift of writing to the right person. Thank you for sharing with all of us.

Hello @bigjoek.
Thank you for that amazing poem. Deeply heart warming for me. My wife broke her right arm recently which immediately cranked up her needs and my responsibilities. Her bone density from Hx of multiple myeloma caught up with her. Wer'e both retired caregivers now caring for eachother. I imagined your poem on a greeting card. Never seen one like yours.

Ernie, thank you! I hope your wife is healing well! I wrote that for my wife who cared for me during every slip, fall, and the transplant itself... I've been in a near death situation many times now, and she has always been the one to insist I get to the hospital, and drove me there each time. Caregivers receive little to no recognition, and all the grief, anger, and responsibilities thrust upon them when they too need someone to care for them. I have actually penned over 300 poems touching on nearly every facet of life, and also am a singer songwriter. I've written a few donor awareness songs, but because I'm somewhat new to this site, I'm not allowed to post links.
I also run or help run several transplant related groups on Facebook, including one I created just for transplant caregivers only. Recipients are turned away for membership so the caregivers have a place to vent, share ideas, and support.
God has gifted me greatly, and I am forever grateful for these gifts!
Stay healthy!
God Bless
Joe

I am always thrilled when my work gives someone a smile, a thank you, or inspiration. Thank you for commenting! I do have a page on Facebook dedicated to my inspirational poetry. I think if you look up my name there, it might come up in the suggestions.

Hi Joe @bigjoek
I googled you looking for more poems and saw your book of poems, "The Courage of One" on Amazon so I ordered it and just read it. It is wonderful! There are several poems I have marked to share with special people in my life, giving you credit, of course. My son's birthday is coming up and I plan to include, "My Dear Child" and also "The Path I Chose" in his birthday card. Although the second one was written for a spouse, I'm going to edit the final line by putting a line through "I do" and adding in "It's a boy!"

I'll leave it up to you, but there are a couple poems that would be great to share for the masses here on Mayo. "Another Day" is great for anyone with cancer or any life-threatening diagnosis. "Call on Us" is great for anyone in any health crisis.

You have a beautiful heart and soul. Zebra

Greetings Zebra!
Thank you so very much for purchasing the book!! Since that book was published, I've penned just over 250 more poems! I do have a page on Facebook that is dedicated to my inspirational poetry! I'll see if I can post the link to that. I do sell signed frame ready copies of all my poetry works.
How old will your son be? I have another poem for parents of older children, plus one written for grandparents. I like your idea for the birthday card! I once was offered a chance to sell some of my work to a greeting card company. They would pay be a whopping $25.00 for unlimited use of my works. I politely declined, telling them I could give it away for free... I would be happy to create a post with just poems in it if you wish to send me a note with your suggestions. That way I can see if I have them typeset, and printed/scanned, or if I need to do so.
My question to you is 1) did you leave a review?? and 2) did you need tissue??
thank you for reaching out, when people do, it means the world to me! and....www.facebook.com/JoeKralicekpoetry
Thank you
God Bless
Peace
Joe
