Recent liver and kidney transplant: Worried about his recovery
My husband had a liver and kidney transplant nearly 4 weeks ago. I know it will take time, but he’s not eating right and sleeping most of the time. He just seems “out of it” “spacey” is this normal? I know he’s suppose to walk, but he just has no energy. He is trying to get 1-2 Boosts down during the day and a couple bites of food, but it’s difficult . He is not enjoying any food, even ones he used to love. He’s also not sleeping more than a couple of hours at a time, the melatonin isn’t really doing much.

It ssounds like you are doing great on your recovery! Just remember to be patient and to not over do your activities. Listen to your body - and to your team. I totally agree with you that the Mayo Transplant Team is great about answering our questions. And the education that the nurses provide while in the hospotal is above and beyond anything that I have experienced. Did you get a binder of information? I don't know if they still use those, but it is a great resource in case you forget something.
Thanks for the link. I think it will be very helpful.
I didn’t get a binder, but I did leave with a lot of paperwork. There was a very helpful booklet and notes from most of my appointments.
