26YO.15WPO Total Hysterectomy. Pelvic Pain&Discharge.
Hello, I’m 26 y.o and had a total hysterectomy (uterus tubes ovaries cervix) removed on 01/27/2025 for PMDD. I’m on HRT, oral estradiol 1.25 mg… around Valentine’s Day I had a BV infection that went undiagnosed for a month and a half because everyone refused to look at me or swab me and my surgeon denied it being an infection despite my symptoms: pain, foul discharge, yellow/pus like discharge… and my PCP had me self swab and it came back for aerobic and nonaerobic BV. So we treated with Amox Clav and I instantly felt better. This was April. Easter I began having intercourse with my partner for the 1st time post op. The aerobic BV came back and my PCP treated both my partner and I. But the antibiotics aren’t working for me this time… I’ve taken Amoxicillin and Doxycycline and I’m still in a ton of pain everyday and having the discharge. No one has looked at my vaginal cuff since my surgery and during the operation they also found severe endometriosis, fibroids, PID and PCOS. I’m aware endometriosis can regrow especially while on hormones and without a uterus. My surgeon believes otherwise. He’s also the only endometriosis specialist in the state and surrounding area…but each day I have severe pelvic pain, which translates to my lower back and legs. Yellow/pus like discharge. Constipation or diarrhea. I don’t have a GYN because I’ve been to the local ones and they’re awful as well. I’m located in Kentucky. I also went to the ER for the 1st infection 6 times… I’m at a loss and I don’t know what to do.

I have never had a hysterectomy. I would suggest finding an ob gyn at all costs. You count. You matter. If I have learned one thing in my journey I must be my own advocate for my health. If I do not have my physical and mental health I have nothing. The second thing your post brings to my mind is your infection could resistant to the antibiotic they gave you. If you read any of my posts I am the member who got bacterial meningitis of my brain. I was septic. I am so sorry this has happened to you.
I am sorry for your pain and lack of regard from docs. You would benefit from a good teaching hospital where you can get the care you need. You may have to travel but it is worth the trip if you can find someone to properly support your health needs. Wishing you the very best outcome possible.
