2 of 3 bypasses have collapsed-What can I do?
I had triple by-pass 6 years ago. I was told last week two of the by-passes have collapsed. What can be done?

Were you not recommended a course of remediation? What did the person who informed you of your failed bypasses say?

The first doctor refused to treat me further. The second doctor put a stint in the left by-pass. Third doctor is hesitant, but will do a new stent in the left again. First by-pass failed 3 days after covid shot. Never had covid. No info as to when the second one failed. It was just noted last month after scans were done.
I was advised by-passes cannot be opened and are too small for stents.
Overall cholesterol has been below 140 for 30 years and at last test (4 months ago) it was 91.

Had a new blood test yesterday. Waiting for the results.
When I presented Mayo clinic treatment procedures, (IE: Re-intervention: If the original graft or new arteries are blocked, surgeons may perform repeat [coronary artery bypass grafting] (CABG) or use less invasive procedures, such as [balloon angioplasty] and stent placement.) I was shut down by current doctors.
@hotrodbob01 I am pretty sure they can be redone....by the right vascular surgeon..., but it may mean longer bypasses and taking more veins from other parts of your body. Well outside my area of expertise. An angioplasty might work for the most robust grafts, but they tend to have to be repeated after a couple of years or more. But to me, the non-expert, why can't they just slide a 'soda straw' of some kind into a slit and lift apart the collapsed area(s). It's not like it's now dead/scarred tissue.....do you think? I would consult with a vascular surgeon willing to take a look at your case.

2 Reactions@gloaming The first doctor refused to do anything and I had to file complaints and plead my case to get a stent, but at this point all they want to do is provide medication to mitigate the discomfort.
I am trying other forms of treatment without doctor supervision.
@gloaming I suggest that and even this website states that as an option. It is an uphill battle to get Medicare to do anything as we age. I have just signed up with VA as well and they did the latest diagnosis.
Blood test last week came back with better results than the info I posted above. Now it's time for me to push them harder.
