Buttock/tailbone pain, sitting or lying down - symptom of PMR?
Has anyone experienced buttock/tailbone pain when seated or lying down as a symptom of PMR? Also, has anyone had labs showing elevated LDL-Cholesteral or anemia that wasn't diagnosed prior to PMR onset?

Keeping your spine as straight as you can while lying down will help. I put a small roll of fabric in my waistline at night and that helped a lot. Is there pain in your upper arms and/or achilles tendon, that was the clincher symptoms with my diagnosis. Hope all you have is a sore back and not PMR.

1 ReactionHello @apprunk5413, I would like to add my welcome to Connect along with @bradninchgirl and others. I've use one of those seat cushions designed to relieve the pressure on the tailbone and it helps some if I've been sitting too long. Mayo Clinic has some information with some treatment suggestions here:
--- Tailbone pain: How can I relieve it?: https://www.mayoclinic.org/diseases-conditions/back-pain/expert-answers/tailbone-pain/faq-20058211.
Have you discussed the tailbone pain with your doctor to see if they have some suggestions?

1 ReactionOne of the worst PMR symptoms for me has been intense glute spasms. Just standing doing the dishes sometimes is so painful in the glutes that I have to sit for a few minutes. It has dissipated mostl
Oops sorry, didn’t get to finish the comment: mostly the spasms have gone since I started prednisone.
@pacarolyn
Prior to my diagnosis I had been having sore sit bones for the previous year. Mentioned it to my primary care and she thought it could bursitis. Maybe that was a precursor to being diagnosed with PMR🤷🏻♀️.
Haven’t noticed it recently while being on prednisone.

1 Reaction@myrlyn3b those pains have never left me! It’s 3 years now.
Yep, butt pain here too. When this all began, I cried every time I sat down!
Yes. GLUTE pain and upper arm pain was always a sign of a PMR Flare. Rheumatologist said it was arthritis. Never thought arthritis attacked the glutes! No longer seeing that rheumatologist.
@predniso141
PMR is most definitely a "pain in the butt."
