Whole Body Vibration for Osteoporosis
I’m looking into Whole Body Vibration to aid in bone building for osteoporosis. I’ve read that Low Intensity Vibration is better than high intensity. Does anyone have any experience with this?

Which machine did you purchase for low intensity vibration? Appreciate your reply.
I will chime in here. Margaret Martin had a very special announcement earlier this year about effectiveness of the Marodyne. It is expensive , but if you join her website http://www.Melioguide. Com you can get a $200 discount. I recently purchased one and have a positive outlook in using it along side of other exercises, changing my diet some, etc….all the other things that are helpful for osteoporosis. I would tell you to look up on YouTube Dr. Clint Rubin by himself and with Margaret Martin to hear them talk together and having him, the person who developed the Marodyne explain and discuss it at length. It was worth it to me, but is costly , so just have to see if that fits in your budget. I paid just about $3000.00 with the discount. Mind you , I suffered a a lumbar fracture last summer merely standing up from a couch, though I know now I bent over , flexing my trunk way too much!! Also , by the way Dr. Rubin’s sister, Janet Rubin, is a Professor at the University Of North Carolina in the Dept of Endocrinology and Metabolism. Again go to YouTube to hear her along with Margaret Martin discuss things from her point of view. Clint Rubin is out of NY’ s Stoney Brook . The Marodyne got its start as he was developing something to help astronauts build bone when they returned back from space.
Take a look and come to your own conclusions as to all this information , and a safe type of Low Intensity Vibration platform. Good good to all!!
Marodyne.
Please see this link. Got it from Merodyne.

Hello all~
It's a new year and hopefully a great one for us all.
Well...to catch up...I'm now 79....feeling really well these days. I have some mid back pains in my days..but, somedays none at all. I haven't had another Dexa..maybe soon. I have not seen an endocrinologist, but have an appointment with my NP in March and will ask her about that.
I have been taking Codeage collagen every morning, along with 6 Bone-up caps a day along with all my regular supplements. and stonthium. I also started taking Saw Palmetto..as I see that there is no harm to women taking this supplement and wow...I feel ever so much better adding this in. I also got rid of my trampoline and got a treadmill....that's been a wonderful addition! I'm up to almost 30 minutes a day on it and go from walking to light jogging on it..getting my heart rate up to 120+. Right now I'm snowed in..so having the treadmill is wonderful as I can't get out of where I live right now...When I do go out...and can walk..I still use my walking sticks and love being out in nature.
I've noticed since I've been using the treadmill..that I have more energy to walk and run errands..and have little to no pain these days...also sleeping much better!! I use my infrared belt when I do get back pains...boy does this ever help!! Wearing it for about 30 minutes..takes all my discomfort away....and I stand on my vibration plate..at its lowest vibration for 15 minutes. For my bone on bone knees...I've also added turmeric to my daily supplements...which has made a big difference!
I'm feeling very well these days...and hope that more of you are as well. I was always active in my life and now feel that feeling again of being strong and more youthful. I have my 'strut' back!
I chose not to do any of the 'drugs' for my osteo....but have upped my intake of veggies along with more 'clean' proteins...and exercising.
There are many ways to deal with our aging process...so whatever you feel comfortable with..please do. I know we can get stuck and feel that nothing will help us..but that's not true at all...I've made changes and can feel the benefits of these changes.
Bless you all..and lets begin this new year with hope and commitment to better days ahead.
How long has it been since your last DEXA and what were they results then?
It is amazing how regular aerobic activity can make a person feel so good and even sleep better. Good for you.
Morning~
I appreciate your quex and reply.
I had my last DEXA over a year ago....It showed that I had indeed lowered my minus numbers...and that news was a great ego boost!...but, I realize that by taking strontium...those favorable numbers could be affected and not to be taken as being 'right on'.
I will ask my NP when I see her in March about some other bone density test I can take that would be more reliable....to show more valid percentages.
Since I'm not going to be taking the pharmaceuticals for my osteo...I've been working on re-gaining not only my bone density, but also looking to be in better health in general.
I so agree with you about getting our bodies going! It doesn't matter what one does ..well except for activities that could be detrimental to us..but, within reason..let's go for it!! I do feel ever so much better in just the couple of weeks I've been consistently using my treadmill..and getting my heart rate raised much more than I had been. I've lost a couple of pounds as well!
Keeping positive and grateful about what life is offering me at this time, keeps me motivated. Cutting down on stress is most important as well. If we do the best we can..that's good enough! We have to remember to be kind to our 'bodies'..and not be disappointed by test scores.
I wish you all the very best you can be. Enjoy your days.
Good luck!
Letting all know that you can see Dr Rubin discussing the Marodyne on the Osteoporosis Summit this week. If you are watching for free , you missed it cause he was on on Monday Jan15th. But if you purchase the Summit for $79 you will have him and a weeks worth of osteoporosis experts forever to go back to the lectures again and again .
I know a lot of people downplay Dr, Rubin but take a listen and form your own opinion. Several research studies brought up that you could check out on your own if you really want to drill down. Granted the Marodyne is expensive, but if you have the extra funds it might be a nice adjunct to your program .
I recently purchased a Marodyne and was using it for 10 minutes, twice per day. After my first session, I noticed a ringing in my ears that evening. I didn’t make any connection, until I started experiencing jabs of pain in my left ear, and a feeling of blocked ears. I stopped using it, but still have the ear problems. The company that sold it to me suggested I take a break for awhile, then start back with only a few minutes. They also extended the return period by one month. Has anyone else experienced tinnitus after using the Marodyne?
