Hand/arm numbness during sleep
Distinct from numbness and tingling when awake, I have been experiencing my upper limbs falling asleep which frequently awakens me during sleep.

I too get painful numbness and tingling as trying to fall asleep and wakes me from sleep. I wear wrist braces as I was told I probably sleep with my wrists bent. But, notice it with my arms straight at my side while trying to sleep and even while awake.
Thanks for the reply. Like all the symptoms of long covid, I wish I knew the cause.
Yes I did and thyroid function tests normal. Thanks for the reply.
I have this happen. I forgot about it. It has become just a regular occurrence. It comes and goes. Sometimes I get out of the car our up from sitting and one of my legs will do like a karate kick move. I have no control of it.
I have had this Long Haul Covid since 01/2021.
Good luck to your Daughter. I hope she is able to find some sort of relief with a diet change, vitamins, IV treatments, or some sort of medication that works for here situation.
Good Luck
Please make sure to have your B-12 and ferritin levels checked. Mine have always been perfectly fine, but labs now show I'm anemic and have to get B-12 shots and iron infusion due to Covid which causes neurological issue like numbness and night sweats.
@rr - ditto it's my pink finger as well! So strange. Like you, I had mild covid in '20 and '21, 2nd bout was not easy since I was done to 89 lbs and still not healed from first Covid and suffering LT Covid and remember thinking, OK, the 2nd bout wasn't too bad and about 3 weeks after I actually felt pretty good, better than I ever had.
Then BAM! All the most horrible and intolerable long-haul symptoms started appearing each and every month with new, more debilitating symptoms, all that you mentioned, plus 30 more! It just continued to attack my body, cells and immune system. I even got a stye/chalazion below lower lid that got so big, a steroid shot was injected which was soooo painful, chalazion went away, BUT I developed inflammation (Covid loves the "I" word) and it became infected with pus, requiring it to be cut open which only made it angrier. Second surgery was required, more pus developed and the chalazion came back. This is how awful this virus is because I never had a stye in my life or any eye problem. Now I developed pleuritis, which is like dandruff on your lashes and it can cause a stye, chalazion or infection very easily. After seeing 5 optometrists/surgeons and Derm they said chalazions are typically caused by an immune system related disorder - hello Covid!
This beast (weapon) of a virus that Covid is wreaks havoc and destroys our body, mind and soul. . . and our bones! I now have terrible osteoporosis. Also told I have lymph nodes in my neck.
I also now have a lingual groin hernia which is so painful and burning pain down my thigh. Need surgery, but because of my current state of health and down to 90 lbs they can't do it.
Prior to Covid, I was so very healthy, active end enjoyed hiking, biking, walking, working in my yard and go, go, go, not to mention lovin' my job. I'm lucky if I can walk down the driveway.
They say we have to treat our individual symptoms, but I have over 30, not to include the hernia or chalazion - where do I possibly begin?
Why oh why would they create such a horrible virus. I hate this! If they can't come up with a cure for LT Covid, PLEASE come up with a time machine so prevent the virus from leaving the lab! Millions of lives would be so different.
So sorry to hear this.
I have the tingling/numbness/ falling asleep in my hands every night since Covid
Would recommend sublingual (under the tongue liquid) B12, some magnesium and potassium to address the nerves. This is in addition to wearing wrist braces and a foam neck brace at night. It works for me.
I have post covid syndrome and developed the tingling/ numbness in my hands during the night after covid. I also had B12 deficiency prior to covid….so…I had gotten my B12 level up when covid and hand symptoms started….so, not sure of exact cause. Hand symptoms are lessening though. So thankful for that.
Thanks, will do
