Poor results with hydralazine to lower BP?

I've been on 50 mg of hydralazine every 8 hours daily and I can't get my BP below the mid-130's for the upper number. Anyone else have mediocre results with this medication? I need to get to 120 for the upper number.

I have been on hydralazine at much smaller doses. I lost weight and no longer take it.
