Improve bone density and strength without medication?
Any luck improving bone density and strength without medication? It seems the medications only mildly help ... and they only help some patients; some studies show the slight improvement in density does not mean quality bone was built. I'm not comfortable with moving forward with the treatments just because "that's what we give patients with osteoporosis". There seems to be no room for education or discussion, or research into actual results or other options.

I am on board. I have heard a number of his presentations as well as those of others.
I’ve started eating 5 prunes per day. Apparently 10 per day is the magic number, but they are too sweet for me to eat that many!!
I agree that one has to be careful with yoga poses. I am not sure if it is indicated if one had a disc prolapse as it can be put pressure on the vulnerable site.
I am not disregarding being careful - I’ve actually deleted all my programs off my devices that are not really well documented to be experts in helping with osteoporosis.
Right now I am doing the Wellen program three days a week, and on the other days - I have a Youtube Playlist of those that are certified to teach Dr. Loren Fishman’s 12 poses which has a two year research behind it. I alternate to avoid being in a rut.
And I go to a bio density session once a week.
That is my new game plan keeping me focused and not all over the place hoping what I am doing is the right thing.
I thought this thread was supposed to be about game plans without drugs????
I tried Tymlos for 1 week and I even reduced the dose but couldn't tolerate. Constant head ache, racing pulse within 10 minutes of taking my injection, tiredness, and in general not feeling good. My doctor wants me to try Forteo. I hope this might work. I am 3 weeks in from back fusion surgery and my surgeon wanted me on a bone growth medication to increase the healing time and increase my bone growth. I have osteoporosis. Anyone else have this experience?
Agree with the thread supposedly being about not taking drugs😂…kinda frustrating
What’s a bio density session? That’s a new one for me.
The machine is from Chicago and now found in several wellness type offices like a chiropractor’s. The one I use is in an office that is just for that.
There are four strength actions one does on it, takes only about 15 min - once a week.
If you search biodensity dot com, you can see it and learn about it.
Osteostrong took it and made it into four difference machines for their program. (I am told)
Medicare paid for it until this year -
my first year. Ugh.
I have a friend that has used one seven years with enough improvement to continue even though no longer paid for.
Dear Sir. Prunes have a good amount of vitamin K which helps absorb other nutrients important for bone health. May I ask, Does your wife also take vitamin K supplements?
No she does not take Vitamin K but I do for low platelets.
i read that 6 is the magic number
