I advise you to get an MRI with contrast of your pelvic area to see if you have the condition that lot of us have that nobody wants to talk about. Only that MRI with contrast will show everything that you need to know.

After an MRI I was told I have 2 bulging disks and a pinched nerve in the cervical spine. (Think 4 and 5) Anyway I was lucky because I went to this superb chiropractor a few times and I was fine. Now about three years since they must have settled back again and one of the pains is back. Am making an appointment Monday.

If you're nerve canals are collapsing pushing on your vertebrae which is pinching your nerves a chiropractor will not fix that type of situation. Only if it's an alignment situation can a chiropractor help but if it's collapsed the nerve canals you got to get it tested with an MRI with contrast. If you're asking for help this is what I personally would advise but I'm not a doctor as I'm only a patient that has gone through what you're going through.

I can always say that an MRI with contrast of your lower part of your pelvic area and see if you have a condition called arachnoiditis which doctors don't want to show it or give it that advice cuz that's what surgery causes in most cases. You need to get tested for that and that's what I recently found out after the surgeons would give me that test and I insisted on it and sure enough it showed up. I hope you don't have it but at least get tested

So if there is a problem he cant fix he will be honest with you . Let me know how your feeling then . Make sure you tell him as you did here .

Hi there and welcome! So glad you found Mayo Connect because it is a supportive, comforting place to come. I'm very sorry to hear of your pain and obstacles.

I was just reading about managing the psychological aspects of pain, which is found in a Small Fiber Neuropathy book that I own and often refer back to. Pain is pain no matter the diagnosis.

You know how when medicine is all you seem to have, not many people surrounding you can truly relate and you continue to not know what else to do?

This book shares various ways and beliefs to retrain your brain through Cognitive Behavioral Therapy, Acceptance and Commitment Therapy, Mindfuness-based Therapy and a new one I just learned about is Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing! Wow!!! It's not for everyone but desperate times can call for desperate measures.

I wish you all the best in learning through this forum. There are plenty of great people who will listen, care and share.

Best of luck to you in your journey.
Rachel

Hello Karen
It's a book on Small Fiber Neuropathy. Is that your diagnosis?
