Anyone tried using red light therapy?

Posted by domokane @domokane, Jul 29, 2023

There seems to be some evidence that photobiomodulation - heating the skin via infra red light - has some benefits for stimulating nerve re growth. There are lots of devices available on Amazon as well as lots of seemingly expensive treatments provided by chiropractors.

I would be interested to know of any personal experience with such devices and any possible recommendations.

I doubt he is going to tell thete is something more serious than your pcp or cardiologist has told you. However, he may be telling you how serious it is because he is planning on trying to sell you some SERIOUSLY expensive treatment and maybe he thinks your family members will try to encourage you to spend the money. I might be wrong and either way i am sorry to hear he would try to worry you so much. Chiropractors don't amputate.

I actually told my son that I was suspicious because I'm pretty certain that my medicare/medicaid does not pay for his visists, the first 2 are free. And I asked ahead if my insurance would cover and they said no. Thanks for responding.

Unless you are incompetent, which you don’t seem to be, a doctor should be willing to consult with you alone unless you want someone else there.

Has anyone tried laser therapy for their neuropathy? They also mentioned Red Light Therapy. Specifically, I have chemo induced neuropathy. No one I have asked has an answer for whether neuropathies with different causes should be treated differently.

I am definitely not incompetent. I am 71. I told him I did not want to involve my adult children in this. He seemed very insistent. I am very suspicious of this Doctor. They advertised chiropractor/neuropathy.
I also, think my medicare/medicaid does not pay for this.

Hi all,

I have had cold laser therapy and it worked for me, I also had chemotherapy. I have written about on the forum before. If you have any questions, I will answer with my knowledge, and if not, I will admit, I do not know 😉.

Thank you so much for reply. Can you tell me a little more? What chemo were you given? What symptoms did you have? How much better did you get? How many treatments before you noticed a difference? Thank you so much for sharing your experience.

Thank you for your response. My symptoms are numbness, tremors and spasms. That is currently preventing me from driving. Thankfully very little pain. My heart goes out to the so many like you who do.

What other symptoms did you have that cold therapy helped. How about with the injections?

TIA

I really do not think the type of chemotherapy matters, we know when taking it, that is essentially poison and when you are stage 4, anything to reverse the symptoms is worth it ;).
I had 16 laser treatments over the month, the cll is not a cure but a treatment. My felt better 2 weeks in. Or 4 visits to the doctor. I have mentioned that I did this twice and why in previous posts.
