Anyone tried using red light therapy?

Posted by domokane @domokane, Jul 29, 2023

There seems to be some evidence that photobiomodulation - heating the skin via infra red light - has some benefits for stimulating nerve re growth. There are lots of devices available on Amazon as well as lots of seemingly expensive treatments provided by chiropractors.

I would be interested to know of any personal experience with such devices and any possible recommendations.

Yes I have used red light therapy for my neuropathy. I've used it for probably two years now and have pretty much reversed the feet where I couldn't put shoes couldn't wiggle my toes and they're a little numb but other than that I don't have too much of a problem. I was diagnosed with peripheral neuropathy in 2010 15 and another EMG 2021. Told there was nothing they could do the readings each time came back inconclusive. I'm on Cymbalta 60kg now which I'm going to try to get off wean myself off. Of course with my neurologist recommendation. But I did cut out sugar 100 percent and alcohol a year ago so I believe that had a great deal to do with my reversal of neuropathy. The fibers in my feet have regenerated to protect the nerves parrot It's really almost a miracle. But the neurologist really doesn't seem that interested. Just wanted to know why I want to go off Cymbalta. He actually told me just to stop taking it. Which I don't believe that's how I'm going to approach it. But I believe red light therapy definitely helps to what extent I wish I knew.
good luck!

Of course. It's called bright light therapy. It looks like a scale that you would weigh yourself on and plugs in and has an automatic timer of 28 minutes The red lights come through that look like your feet and you adjust your feet and the last couple minutes it doesn't tell you to but I wiggle them up and down and back and forth I feel better circulation and that helped me in the last 34 months I believe. They don't tell you to do that but I have found it beneficial. Be glad to answer any more questions.

It's called NeuropaCalm; you can google it for the web site as I am not allowed to post that information. It came with a powerful foot vibrator which I use mostly when I am in a lot of pain. It may not stop the pain, but it! diverts my attention! I got this through a chiropractic practice in Pittsburgh. It may not be a cure-all, but I was/am desperate for help!

I did a Google search on red light therapy, and I found this page. I am very grateful for the wealth of information. Thank you Rebe for Anodyne Therapy also known a MIRE infrared therapy. I do red light therapy in physical therapy. I had exchange many red light therapy devices on Amazon and NovaaLabs . NovaaLabs really "no va" ( does not work )because I was burned in a 5 minutes session with their NovaaLabs Extra Strength Healing Laser. Hatch, Bestqoool, LifePro are all the same -glorified heating pads that are claiming medical grade; it made my inflammation in my joints worse not better. Because of Rebe's posts , I learned about Anodyne and bought a used Anodyne therapy device. My physical therapist dr proved of it and we are seeing results.Anodyne is a medical company that has had a patent since the 90s and they are the lead company for infrared therapy. Consult them to see if your medical condition would benefit from that type of laser treatment. I found medical research of doctors, physical therapist, nurses and other medical professionals, urging Medicare and insurance companies to continue to cover services using this device, and for covering the home version of this device. The success stories are very encouraging. Insurance companies did not want to cover it because it's a very expensive device; it still is. The insurance came out with "interesting" research, saying that it was just as good as a placebo yet many patients from all types of ailments have improved.

Update: I received 4 burns using Anodyne Therapy-3 burns when I leaned too close to the laser panel . The 4th burn I was very cautious not to lean but I still get burned. I guess my skin on my back and glute is too sensitive. I don't get that reaction when I use it on my knee or upper thigh. I did a 30 minute treatment like their booklet said.

I had my very first treatment yesterday at LIGHT LOUNGE in Boulder CO. FULL SIZED machine that reaches the entire body back and front. Naked in the machine for about 15 min. Machine is MEDICAL GRADE and FDA CERTIFIED. I've only had one treatment and our plan is to only do the INFLAMMATION PROGRAM for the first month or so with 20 sessions a month. I'll report back when I switch from INFLAMMATION to the actual NEUROPATHY treatment but they recommend starting with several weeks of inflammation because it's the root cause of so many body issues.

i'm on zero meds and will stay that way. I'm convinced the Light Lounge Medical Grade FULL BODY FDA CERTIFIED machines will help me to stay off meds and address the pain and regenerate some nerves. I will be doing 20 sessions a month (15-20 min each). The research I've done has given me hope that I'll be able to reverse this demon of a disease!
