Hi Teresa,
Thank you for asking.
Feeling better but not to where I was before the fall. I cannot remember if you saw my post, but I took an xray. The doctor said the report was different from the one I took not long ago. The actual xray was ordered. We'll be at the doctor on Monday to see what is what.

Thanks again,
Ronnie

Hi Ronnie, what did you find out about your fall? I can’t remember if you gave me the final diagnosis. I just wanted to write - thinking about you!
How is your day? We started off rainy, but now have blue skies with puffy clouds. I’ve given up hope of any more snow this winter. We were lucky to get 7 inches! (I live near Raleigh, NC). I’m having a very rough day considering how pretty it is outside. The pain is unbelievable. I now have been diagnosed with neuropathy in my feet and legs. I need to see a neurologist because every medicine that I know of, that is used for this, I can’t take for 1 reason or another. The diagnoses keep piling on! That’s life....Karen

Sorry to say that I have the same symptoms and diagnosis and nothing for the pain. This is more than difficult. I have so many things going on at the same time that when I called the Mayo for an appointment they did not know what to make the appointment for. (which catagory or catagories to place me in.) Still looking for a driver anyway. Some how I will figure it out.

I know how hard it is to have r.s.d. or c.r.p.s. whatever you're comfortable calling it, I have it as well. I was diagnosed with it about two years ago. It started in my left leg after a broken ankle. Nerve blocker fixed it but it jumped quickly to my arm ,noting worked on that , I had to get a spinal implant. Then within a few months it jumped to my other arm. The lead was already implanted so it was turned on. Unfortunately now it's in my spine and there is nothing anyone can do to help me. But I get medical marijuana and it at least helps take me out of my body and helps my sleeping. You should try it. Good luck!!

Hello. You mention "nerve block". A month ago my neurologist gave me 6 nerve blocks (3 in each leg) 2 in each foot and 1 in each knee. Did not work. This procedure made the pain and swelling worse. Boy, did I suffer and still am. Sorry to complain but maybe this information can help to put together some information to be added to the rest of our post's. I am hanging in there and send my caring for all of us. Peach

I had a bunch of injections to relieve pain. I got mine in my spine. They were as worthless as the teats on a boar pig. Maybe get four days of mild relief. I was offered a block of a different kind buy an anesthesiologist before a surgery. He put it in my hip and he said I would not feel any pain for 48 to 72 hours and then I'd have to start to use the medication that my surgeon gave me to take home. It didn't really affect me like a narcotic but it absolutely took all the pain away from my neck and other places I had pain. The surgery was in my neck but I was already a pain patient in a lot of other location period. By and large I think these ejection injections are a waste of time and medically dangerous.

May I ask what medication the surgeon gave you that took all your pain away?
Thanks

I'm not sure it was back in 2011 I believe it may have been Demerol. It didn't leave me high or woozy but the pain all over my body was gone for 2 days. It wasn't something they would do on a regular basis, too bad as I've said before many times if you're in pain and you expect to be in pain for the rest of your life look at getting a pain pump inserted into your body. Search wsh66 and read descriptions that I 've given.

I am catcatanzaro60 I have lived with Chronic pain for the last five years off and on. Chronic Pain will wreck your life. I was always on the Go ( Strong and Hyper) I did gardening as a volunteer for people with worst physical and mental disabilities. I always helped the less fortunate when I was living poor or middle income. When I started searching for pain medicine I was so much labeled. I was taught to go to the ER as an emergency Well around 40 yrs of age, I almost died from my doctors. They accidentally cut my colon, my bladder and kidney tube too. I had arthritis at age 27. And did not think much about it. Back then the only pain med that I was able to take and provide for my three girls was Vikes. Everything else made me feel drunk. So five years ago I told the doctors what I needed for pain. I was not a drug addict but treated badly. I was labeled too. I was so naive at the time. My experience with medication has scared me to death. I have applied for Disability which hurt my pride. Yes, I have pride. But the pain caused me so much pain, made my Depression and anxiety worse. The side effects of the medicine are scary to me. I have tried everything I can to make my life pain free without Drugs but it did not work. I still do PT at home, better nutrition knowledge, chiropractor and massages. Prayer and God have been the best options for me in my life. I hope that everyone will continue to search for the best med or life that will make us comfortable. When it comes to pot, it seems to help people but not everyone. Just like alcohol has cost us so much pain and money. However, it is still used all over the world. Cigarettes are now unsociable due to Health costs. I used to compare Pot to Alcohol so I am confused about the new laws. Pot helps Bipolar people Pot helps people with anxiety. We have many options in America today. Just my thoughts God Bless! This site has been such a blessing to me I hope my senior years will be the best.

Good Morning, Karen!
Sounds like you are a lover of snow. Guess when you don't have to live with much, you can enjoy it when you do get it. As a born and bred northerner, I've lived with snow all my life. Honestly, I don't miss it! I do love the look of a fresh new snow, but I hate the cold, wet and what it does to my body.
Do you have diabeties? Is that why you have neuropathy? I remember my mom developed that when she was going through chemo. It was bothersome at the beginning and then became painful. I did not know that you could take meds for it. Would massage or accupressure help?
As far as my back......when I went to the neurosurgeon for a check up, last week, I saw the PA. She said that the xrays looked the same as the ones I took a couple of months ago (for my regular post op check up). As a matter of practice, she always get a 2nd opinion from the actual surgeon. Well, I got a call from the PA saying that the doc wants an MRI. He seems to think there is more going on. I have new insurance, so now I have to wait for approval (didn't need it before). I hope to have the MRI next week. The PA will call with the results and at that time we will determine if I need to go back in for another exam (this time by the surgeon, I think).
My back has been giving me lots of pain. I think it is a combination of the arthritis, fall and the cooler temps and rain. Yesterday moring was really bad. Feeling better today. Hope you are, too!
Thanks for checking on me!
Isn't life interesting?
Ronnie

Dear catcatanzaro60: Yes, I do understand you as I am in pain 24/7 and am a bi-polar woman of (now) 81 years of age. I also have been mistreated for being a bi-polar person. The will to live is so much with me (and I guess with everyone) The pain can be a horror. How to deal with it overcomes me many times. Do not know how much longer I can hold out. Thinking of when I was in one of the Lifecare places and broke out of it to come back to my home I know that I will never go back. (Most of the problems ware caused by the family physician and PA.) The cruelties were with many of the patients, not just myself. Any which way, thinking of food has given me an appetite and what a good feeling it will be when I cater to myself by eating my choice of fat french fries (potatoes) and then almond pastaschio ice cream or whatever the flavor you enjoy. Of course this old lady cannot chew the nuts so she keeps them to the side and then crushes them with a clean hammer and then enjoys the taste Then to watch the television. There is an enjoyment even with the pain. Or whatever pleases you. To me, something is better than nothing. I do exercises lying down when watching the TV which is a good idea. So, please cater to yourself, love yourself as much as you can. And then I caress my beautiful dog and the sweet cat who brings me dead things. The animals do help us to help ourselves. Just feeding and caring for them does the body and mind good. With caring to all of us. Peach
