stge 3 kidney failure

Posted by sherryann75 @sherryann75, Nov 30, 2023

Should I drink 80 ounces of water daily to improve stage 3 renal failure or may I drink Green tea and cranberry juice as a substitute for some of the water?

@wilfreda @sherryann75 I get my supplies through Amazon. You could also use a few drops of lemon juice, or cranberry juice. With kidney issues you need to be careful of some of the phosphates and potassiums present in juices [like orange juice]. I took all three of these into my dialysis clinic and got the okay from the dietician after she saw the packets.

I am diabetic and have CKD stage 4 so I have to concern myself with both diabetes and renal diet requirements when it comes to hydration. I don’t like plain water either so the suggestions of a little juice, seltzer, tea, True —, ….etc. helps the taste. I have also used Crystal Light beverage packets. There are other similar store brands & generics. You can get individual size or packets that make a half gallon. I find them in the grocery store near bottled juices and Kool-Aid packets.

Is anyone familiar with the weight loss program Golo?
They use a supplement called Release,
I would like to lose 10: lbs , but I have stage 3 Kidney disease, and I would be interested in hearing if there is anyone. who has taken this supplement.

My husband takes GOLO Release and amazingly has lost 25 pounds. He was already in stage 5.

I take a tablespoon of psyllium and benefiber each morning and I mix it with a little tart cherry juice concentrate and I don't mind it as much as plain. My wife can not tolerate it and takes it in pill form. It is more expensive but works for her. Hope that helps.
