Hi, I'm Kaiy and new to the group. I was reading previous comments on some symptoms my husband is going through and was trying to see if anything aided individuals suffering from chronic migraines/head pain. He did have a MR Angiogram and the results state, "No major vessel occlusion or significant stenosis of intracranial arteries. There is a 2 mm triangular outpouching from the distal cavernous segment of the right internal carotid artery, possibly representing an infundibulum rather than an aneurysm (image 134 of series 2). Otherwise no other aneurysm identified." I saw other people list this as a diagnosis and was wondering if they were given any medication or other options on how to deal with the pain. My husband has been prescribed various medications with no relief only suffers from the meds side effects. He's currently on Topiramate (Topamax), starting at 25mg low dosage and it goes up to 200mg. Every 7 days the dosage increases. he's on day 4 of 25mg (this med scares us). He's even has scheduled to get his wisdom teeth out, 1 is out already to no relief and the other is impacted and scheduled to be removed. He's been in pain since Memorial Day weekend nonstop with a pain level at a constant 7 and will get to 9. I guess with all of this being said has anyone had this diagnosis, constant headaches and pressure and found something that helps?? He goes to a chiropractor too and we're considering an acupuncturist. Thanks in advance for your help and comments.

@jmgndph Oh, my heart simply aches for both you and your wife. As @lioness suggested, has there been a CT scan done? Any blood work for heavy metal exposure, like lead or mercury? Has the water source been checked? What about everyday things like mold in your house/environment or car? Really hoping there is an answer out there for you, soon. Please keep us informed. We care.

Welcome Frank!!
I feel your pain!!!! I am sorry that the fusion surgery did not work. Has your surgeon given you any other alternatives?
I have issues all up and down my spine and I have lived in constant pain for about 10 years.
At the end of February 2018, after years and years of taking shots (and lots of other interventions that didn't work), I realized that surgery was my only next step.
My pain management doctor really didn't agree with me and he thought there was more he could do for me, but nothing had been working over the last 3 shots he gave me.
Anyway, I found an excellent neurosurgeon. I decided I didn't want a orthopedic surgeon to work on my spine even though many specialize in it.
I was given 2 choices, a fusion or replacement of C5/6.
I was told that a fusion does not always work and because of the weight of it, I would need more fusion surgeries down my spine in the future.
I chose to have my C5/6 replaced with artificial discs. I was told that it does not work for everyone although the failure rate is very, very low and in his experience, he had only 1 paitent that it did not work for.
I was told that if the surgery failed, then a fusion would be the next step.
I suppose I am telling you all this because there might be something else that can be done or someone else who can do it.
Don't give up. YOu are too young and you want to have a quality of life.

Hang in there!
Ronnie (GRANDMAr)

Please consult a neurologist and discuss with him/her a diagnosis of New Daily Persistent Headache. Look it up on Wikipedia.

Please don't take what I am about to say the wrong way, I am very sincere in my desire to help. You said you pray and turn your life over to God on a daily basis. If you TRULY turn your life over to God you should not have to repeat it every day. Now, having said that, the next time, try letting go and letting God handle it 100%. My granddaughter suffers from headaches, hers is caused by having a sumo tumor. Nothing works for her either except having a spinal tap to relieve the pressure. Have you been checked for this disorder? Also, have you considered your medication? It could be one or more of the medications you are taking could use a change in the dose or you could be having a reaction to one or more of your meds. Have you been tested for allergies? if not, please consider doing that. Something is obviously causing your pain, medicine is a practice of the process of elimination, it sounds like you have done a lot to find something to ease your pain but leave no stone unturned in finding the cause. It could be such a small thing that is at the root of your problem, something as small as a single food allergy can reek havoc in one's life, Or, an allergy to the dye used in foods and materials can be the culprit. And like it or not it could all boil down to being psychosomatic. Stress, depression, and anxiety are no stranger to chronic pain, making the situation worse. I see where you have tried a multitude of self-help techniques and none were successful. I personally, use help healing, prayer, and mind over matter which has helped me with my pain. Self-help is not for everyone, you need to be very dedicated and you need to be totally open about it. Believe strongly in what you are doing, pick one technique and stick with it. One that you can be completely dedicated to. Keep the faith, work your self-help program, and get tested for allergies and have your Dr. evaluate your medication. I wish you all the blessings that God brings you, and know I will remember you in my prayers.

God never promised to heal anyone. All he, (she), promised was to be with you in your time of need. Try asking for Jesus to send you his love to help you heal yourself. Just sayin', that's what worked for me. Love and Blessings

Hi, I'm Sandy. I am experiencing chronic pain from my sciatic nerve. This has been going on for five months. I have been to the doctor several times with no relief. I have done the drugs, the physical therapy and finally the chiropractor. I just want to lead a normal life without pain.

Hi, I'm Katie. At age 69 I'm coping with severe pain from spinal stenosis L4,5, S1. (Some at C1,2) A fall 30 years ago and 2 bad falls in 2017 have further impacted my day to day activities. Standing 5 minutes, walking 10 steps causes extreme tightening of calf and hamstrings, feeling like a blood pressure cuff tightening too tight. Also intermittent numbness feet, calves. Presently on 40 mg Oxycocet per day, 30 mg Baclofen per day as a muscle relaxant. Gait is wobbly due to pain but also incredible fear of falling. Looking for ways to improve quality of life realizing this is not going away and learning to live "around" my pain without increasing current meds or taking additional meds. No other known health issues.

Welcome to Connect @katie215 and @saninmich,

Both spinal stenosis and sciatic nerve pain can be so debilitating! I’d like to invite @ssbionicknee @frister @junebug15 @rw5473, @naidab, @ladytakash, @GeorgeII, @virtuous69, @kibwezi, @lynn12, @mdmo, @jacke71310 @leslie324 @marcyk and Mentor @mamacita to this conversation as they may be able to provide you with some more information on the discomfort you are experiencing.

@saninmich, sciatica pain can occur for a variety of reasons; have you identified an exact cause? @katie215, have you considered alternative therapies such as acupuncture or massage?
