Prednisone and SVTs
I've been having SVTs daily since August. My vision sometimes fades to black which one electrophysiologist said isn't a standard symptom. The monitor reported 220 episodes over 14 days. Beta blocker did not help. I'm scheduled for the ablation next month. Earlier this month, I took an 8 day course of prednisone for a pinched nerve and the SVTs stopped for 9days, returning 3 days after the last dose of prednisone. The cardiologists have no explanation. Anyone else experience this?

I thought you were going to write that steroids caused SVT's! I cannot tolerate even the lowest dose without having palpitations, not sure what higher dose would do for my SVT's and afib. It's a good thing steroids helped you. I wonder what the explanation could be! That some sort of inflammation is happening????
Sounds like you have the typical reaction to prednisone based on what my cardiologist told me. I just read an interesting article on covid causing inflammation leading to SVTs. I'm going the ask for more tests.
In my case Paxlovid caused supraventricular ectopy and afib. I stopped after two days and was fine for 4 days. Today I had a fever and some ectopy again from the faster than usual heart rate. I am still not sure if COVID or Paxlovid caused my arrhythmia but I was in the ER on Sunday because it was constant.
