Hello
I have Chronic pain, after fusions to my lower back and Clavicle. After past surgeries on several medications and a pain stimulation inplant (this helps dealing with pain it doesn’t make it go away!
I recently tried Yog, made it even worse!
Stretching daily, not walking long distance !
Waiting for my disability to come through so I can go to another specialist out of my current location..

Trade in that stimulator for an implanted pain pump and get some real relief. Drugs from a pump are 300 times more effective then what you put in your mouth. 3 mg of Dilaudid a day drift into your spine does a lot to make pain manageable

Hi @janiss,

I merged your message about "needing relief after attempting yoga" with your earlier post in this discussion, so that you could reconnect with other members here.

Although yoga has far more potential to heal than to hurt, yoga injuries are not uncommon. The most basic of yoga poses call for a certain amount of skill and proper alignment. @janiss, may I ask if you consulted your doctor before starting yoga?

Yes he thought it might help. The instructor made sure everyone was doing it properly.

I once questioned a doc about the med pump. Using the pump, will the meds be systemic? Is there still the possibility of becoming addicted to the pain meds this way? Do you feel loopy or dopy taking meds this way?
Thanks

Happy Weekend,
I was doing some searches and came along a site about medical testing. This particular test is for people with back pain. I am NOT advocating you do this. I am suggesting this might need some more investigation. For those of us who have tried it all, this MIGHT be a solution (or not).
This is the link:
https://clinicaltrials.gov/ct2/show/NCT03487731?map_cntry=US&map_state=US%3AFL&rank=8
You might have to copy and paste.
Good luck and let me know if this looks viable for you.....

@grandmar Good morning. You are up bright and early. How are you feeling?
Thank you for sharing the clinical trial. This maybe of interest for those who suffer daily. Are you going to investigate this for yourself?

Good Morning Jackie,
Yes, I am up bright and early.....sadly, sleep is not something I do very well. I go through these terrible sleep patterns. Since I am retired, I get to nap during the day or just relax when I am tired. Enough about that.

I am doing well with the cervical spine surgery. Each day a little better. I had a PT evaluation last week and will start on Monday. The therapist said that there already has been progress since my last PT cycle, about 3/4 months ago.

I was on the AARP website that had an article on ways to make money. They happen to have an article on clinical trials. I was looking out of curiosity. I am not yet at a point of wanting to participate in a clinical trial. I am going to look into surgery for my lumbar spine. If I have as much success as my cervical spine (approx. 80% - 85% relief, I'll take it.

And how are you doing?
Enjoy your day,
ronnie

I now have even more pain from scar tissue after the placement of a VNS which was removed in 2010. The pain this causes is not at all pleasant. Pain is something that many of us live with on a daily basis. I also have other pain issues. Suck (a term I abhor) it up and do not darken the door of another pain specialist nor a doctor of any type as they do not want to lose their lives of luxury. Makes good sense.
Why are there pain doctors when they can do nothing?? Currently believing doctors are useless. Pain messes with my mind.
