Hello, just recently diagnosed with a case of Bronchiectasis
Hello, I have always been a healthy gal and recently i came down with a case of walking pneumonia which was diagnosed by x ray which showed GG Opacities. I recovered quickly was on 2 antibiotics.. I had a follow up x ray a month later and the Opacities were still on x ray. I then had a CT scan which showed the Bronchiectasis. I am symptom free and feel normal My Dr said there is nothing to treat at the moment. I have my next Ct scan scheduled for February. I have Kaiser Permanente HMO insurance at the moment and i am considering making a change now that i have this diagnosis. If anyone has any information to pass along i would be very grateful. Thank you for this support group! I am learning much by reading the posts.

if you have it in your State plan F or G medigap covers everything basically that medicare does not. Plan G you have to pay the deductible first but the premiums are lower than Plan F. Either is a great option. I have plan G in Iowa.
One thing I will say as someone who travels, and spends part of the year away from home - I find it very important to have insurance that is flexible enough to offer coverage away from home. With Bronchiectasis, it is hard to know when an exacerbation will hit and you need to see someone NOW but are not ill enough for the ER.

I have A+B and an aarp uhc supplement. It's great but no drug coverage. I'm struggling with the AARP Medicare Rx Saver from UHC (PDP) plan.
I didn’t /don’t produce much sputum either, but after nebulizing 7% NaCl and using an aerobika and postural drainage/huff coughing, I was able to provide enough sputum for evaluation.
Although expensive, I also have medigap plan G. I don’t receive bills and can see any specialist without restrictions. I’ve had some serious illnesses in last two years and am fortunate to have chosen this plan. There are other medigap plans for her to evaluate which is best suited for your medical needs.
If you are able to switch to Medicare A&B and purchase a supplement, (F or G) do it now. I’m not sure of the rules, but you may now have trouble getting a supplement because of a pre-existing condition. The Advantage plans are run by private insurance companies and can do whatever they want as far as coverage and premiums, and their network of physicians can change year to year. Forget about their so called extras.
Plan F is no longer offered. Plan G is the only option.
Plan F is no longer available. Plan G is. F had no deductible, Plan G I believe is 250.
Right, but they let those of us with F already stay there, but not open to new customers.
Exactly. I should have made that clear. Thanks.
