NAC supplement?
A friend of mine suggested the supplement NAC (N-acetylcysteine) for my long Covid. I have never heard of it. Has anyone tried this?

Do you take vitamin supplements too? What about calcium intake?
Did you just take the 600mg, 1xday?
My NAC supplement is vegan.
Suggested dose ,600mg, is taken 1hr before meal, empty stomach
I have been taking 600 mg 2x daily of calcium for years.
Multi vitamin with emphasis on B12
2000 IU D3 (for past ten years as blood tests showed I was at a 16! back in the day!
Plant based diet, no grains, no alcohol, no dairy…(this is a recent switch for me)
Have increased my exercise to 5 c a week (20-30 min) I do a Nike workout that is on Netflix (lots to choose from, no equipment necessary)
I’m also on hormone therapy (recently finally in menopause) that predates the covid pandemic.
Hmmm, what else…
Started Wellbutrin and very low dose of generic adderall to help with the memory and depressive symptoms that arose like a switch flipped immediately following my covid infection in 10/2022
No, do not have low blood pressure. I have had dizziness since I’ve had long Covid.
A lot of Supplements that I have tried, I’ve made my dizziness worse. I feel like my body just rejects everything since this all began
So it’s possible that the NAC decreased your blood pressure? Taking it at night rather than the morning might change your experience with dizziness?
It’s so hard to find medical help with all this!!!
I know that I won’t try it again…I felt horrible. Glad it is helping some people though.
Soooooo important to listen to your body, eh?!?!
Ugh! Dizziness! Yuck!
Have you tried looking at inner ear stuff?
I have had extreme dizziness (pre covid world) that were caused by tiny calcium fragments that apparently get stuck in the inner ear. There is a series of head and body movements that you do to dislodge and get the calcium bits to move out of the inner ear.
If I didn’t have word retrieval issues, I’d remember what this is all called?!?! Lol!!
Can’t post the link. But maybe this hopkinsmedicine
home-epley-maneuver
There are a couple of others and plenty of YouTube videos?
Apologies if completely irrelevant to you!!!
Hoping you have a balanced, stable day today!!!
Yes, 600 mg. I do the guanfacine (prescription needed) and the NAC at bedtime (Yale protocol).
A search for Yale guanfacine will pull the specifics.
I am considering doing 600 in the morning as well?
