After 8 months heart is still in A-Fib. Cardiologist gave me 3 options
Yesterday I had consult with my cardiologist about what to do next . Shocking hasn’t budged my heart. They calling it chronic. He says I have 3 options
1. Do nothing - continue on Eliquis &’Cardezim
2. They can give me a high powered drug (forgot the name & try shocking again) side effects are pretty rough
3. Set up consult with an electrophisiologist for consult about ablation
I’m not sure what I need to do, but I had him set me up with the consult electrophysiologist for 1/6.
Anyone else going through this?

Hi, yes I agree. I have decided to purchase a smartwatch to monitor my system. My nurse friend tells me if I get the right watch, it will tell me if or whether or not I am in Afib. Any recommendations for smartwatches? Thanks to all for reading or responding. This helps me a lot. M
Apple watch excellent for afib. It will monitor your sleep and notify you.
Hi, they are very pricey and I am not wealthy but this one is affordable.
I found this:
"Apple Watch Series 4 and later and all models of Apple Watch Ultra also have built-in electrodes in the Digital Crown and the back of Apple Watch, which can measure the electrical signals across your heart when used with the Heart Rate app or the ECG app."
Found a series 4 on Amaz for 150.00 but is "Renewed."
This system says I am new so cannot post links but this is the heading on this listing:
"Apple Watch Series 4 (GPS, 44MM) - Space Gray Aluminum Case with Black Sport Band (Renewed)"
Sorry if your budget is limited, but I would not buy that one. You should try for the newest or at least newer model. I have an 8, and I think my husband has a 7. Refurbished could be ok if it has some warranty. I would look some more if you can. Also the watch you note has cellular I think and you can either ignore it or pay your provider a monthly fee. You do not need it for health measurements. Good luck. Maybe others are available. You need an iphone as well to get the benefit of the watch. Do you have one? Have you checked your service provider- they might have one that meets your needs. Bottom line if the 4 price reflects the GPS and you don't need it, you can probably find an equivalent for less.
On amazon I see a 6 for $200. That to me is better. And I was wrong about cellular, GPS does not mean cellular.

Everything I know about AFIB, I would do the cardo-version. U can be in AFIB and not know it because I have been. I only knew was by taking daily blood pressure and finding out. Then contacted my doctor and having cardio version ... then gone ... at least for the moment.
Have an Fitbit that works, well give the same info as the Apple. The Apple only works with an apple phone ...
I had cardioversion on 9/18 and was NSR for two days. I am back to Afib 100% of the time. I am on a wait list for the Rhythm Specialists as they said there are no appointments available. I really don't know what to do next, I was told to keep calling ICS to see if there has been any cancellations. I am on metoprolol 75mg and that is it for the Afib. I just wish something could be done sooner that later.
Oh my goodness. Is it feasible to - even if you have to drive - go to another Cardiologist- preferably an Electrophysiologist? The risk of a stroke is real.
I just posted a long explanation of our experience on "Heart Rhythm Conditions"- the thread is "Meds to Stop A fib". It will shed some light.
