Has anyone had the 2023 updated Covid shot?
Does anyone have experience with the new booster shot? If so, what has been your experience? My intergrative doctor said the booster shot will be hard on my body right now. She also said getting sick would be the same. Her treatments are helping me, and I'm improving. I don't want a shot to set me back, but also don't want Covid, which would also set me back, plus - well, Covid. I'm trying to decide whether or not to get it. I'm up on all of my shots until now. I've had LC for a year. I would love to hear if anyone has gotten the shot, and how it's affected them.

What did you do specifically to heal your own long haulers in 4 to 6 months?
I received the Pfizer Covid vaccination on 10/13/2023 and was in ER the following day with delirium and crackles in my head. I did not know where my house was, or where rooms were in the house. 5 days later I was almost back to normal
I had my flu and covid booster last week. I also had them last fall after being diagnosed with long covid. I didn't have a problem at all with them this year besides sore arms for 24 hours. If you decide to get them, just make sure you are resting and drinking plenty of water for the week.
My Long COVID was caused by my booster in November of '21 and by the advice of many Medical Professionals I have been told not to get the booster again. That advice was not unanimous but a heavy majority. My tactic is that if I get a bad case of COVID to take Paxlovid.
I got the Norovirus shot and had absolutely no side effects. I am grateful for my Epidemiologist recommending it.
I am a very "pro-vaccer" but have had long COVID for 4 years and am pretty debilitated because of the effects (total loss of balance), so I am not going to risk it.
I totally understand your feelings. I can not imagine having it that long! I hope you get better soon!!
I am still on the fence about getting the latest booster. I have had all of the previous vaccines. My PCP said it was optional. She said since i have had the previous shots and had Covid twice (mild cases) , it was not essential.
I am uncertain too. I am a cancer survivor and am on an immune suppressant (Entyvio). I have gotten every booster prior to this year. My GI is strongly recommending I get both the flu and Covid vax. I needed Paxlovid each time so the second time, I wasn’t nearly as sick. I read that insurance may not cover Paxlovid due to the cost. I think I’m going to get the updated booster to try and add a an extra layer of protection.
I had the new covid booster a few days ago..the next day I was achy and tired but nothing too bad…the next day I felt better, this is my fifth booster and it was the only one that I had symptoms, the previous boosters just left me with a sore arm. I took the flu vaccine two weeks before, I felt that if I got any bad symptoms I only have to deal with one at a time. I spoke with my doctor about the RSV vaccine and he said that I can take it but it’s costly, I don’t know if I will take it because I’m not sure yet, I always wear my mask indoors for added protection, the first year we started wearing masks the seasonal flu hardly made an impact on society…I’m very pro vaccines and truly believe in them and the defence they offer us, for those people who can’t take the vaccine I would highly recommend them to rely on them, they really do protect us.
