Lingering dry nasal passageways
Hello, at about two weeks into Covid and now still at 11 weeks, I’ve had no moisture/mucous in my nose. If I get anything out, it’s stringy white and opaque. I’ve had other post Covid issues that come and go…from lip tingling, Covid tongue, dry mouth, loss of smell and taste, regained but not 100%. Going to a third ENT and a long haul Covid clinic in the coming weeks. Thanks

I use organic unrefined coconut oil and it seems to help with the dryness.
@valerierose-
Thank you-I appreciate it.
I’ve been advised the same, however it’s a little complex.
Everything was normal functioning before I saw/allowed and ENT to “help”.
Anyone I see reporting post Covid symptoms (which I can’t relate to) but I can tell them to stay clear of an ENT-they are surgical head/neck specialists. Don’t left the “ENT” acronym fool you.
They can not assist in any type of inflammatory issues which that’s what Covid is. Inflammation can cause dryness etc…
Better off seeing an allergist/immunologist or EVEN a dermatologist to explain all of this.
Unless you want things removed from your nose/sinuses do not visit them for post Covid issues.
I agree. I’ve seen multiple ENTs. One put me in hearing aids to try to counteract the clogged ear issue. It actually did help me for awhile, but now I’ve developed tinnitus and severe hyperacusis. The hearing aids make that worse! I will go back to talk to the Audiologist, but I don’t have high hopes for any solution.
In addition I also have dry eye, nose, mouth, skin.
As well as the ear issue I reference above.
Hi, have you recovered from your symptoms yet? I may have the same issues? Face/nose pressure but no mucus. I have had CT and MRI and lumbar puncture and it's all clear. I assume it's inflammation? I also have terrible fatigue and brain fog.
slow improvements. Yes, I think it's still inflammation.
I got Covid 8/2021
And have never been the same. I deal with dry sinuses causing headaches, dry eyes, mouth, nose, throat. My ears feel plugged and make me dizzy at times. It’s been awful! I haven’t found anything to help me. I have a humidifier, I use saline sprays, saline gel, and nothing helps with producing mucus.
My nose is constantly dry. I use Vaseline and steroid cream around the outside to keep it moist. I have really bad tinnitus. In August my eardrum ruptured and leaked. Prior to that I visited 2 ENT’s whom all said nothing was wrong. They never tested the fluid. Currently I suffer from tinnitus and facial numbness. I must say the facial numbness frightens me the most.
Have you tried running a cooll mist humidifier in your bedroom at night? Have you tried the moistening saline nasal sprays? Have you tried Alkolol (Amazon)? I would definitely get the facial numbness checked out soon. Praying for relief.
I had the turbinate procedure toward the end of 2020 (Sept I think). I did nothing for me and my nose has been super dry ever since. I had Covid early 2020 (March). It was cake. I was 38 at the time. Never had allergies. I have been to 3 ENTs, no results, can't breathe, allergy tested three times. I'm very athletic and play soccer. I have not been able to play since March 2020. I wish I did not get the vax (2 x Pfizer). I was diagnosed with reflux and took tons or omeprazole. No help. Have an endoscopy, everything was normal. I have something in the back of my throat/nasal cavity that will not go away. If I breathe in through the back of my throat, it sounds and feels like something is going to come out but it never does. My chest hurts from constantly trying to clear my throat and it is wearing me down more and more every day.
My lower back hurts, my upper shoulder blades and neck hurt like I just played a football game or slept on a crappy couch.
My nose is always dry and swollen and my head hurts like a constant sinus pressure, but sinus CT scan was perfect. So frustrating. I'm sure there is much much more to add to this but I'm just looking for help.
God Bless,
Brandon
