Cleaning of Aerobika
Hi,
I am new to this. I got an Aerobika and a phillips baby bottle sterilizer.
If after first use I wash with dawn and rinse with distilled water, what do I put it on to air dry? Paper towels?
After second use of the day and I wash with dawn and rinse with distilled water, do I need to air dry or can I put it directly in bottle sterilizer? I have the drier feature. Can I store it in the bottle sterilizer until the next day ready for first use?
Thank you very much.

I have two Aerobika. That way I can be sure it is perfectly dry by the time I use it again. I follow the manufacturers instructions of soaking it in alcohol once a week. Otherwise I soak after each use in soap and water (dye free/scent free dish soap recommended by NJH is Seventh Generation). Then rinse and dry on paper towels over night.
Hi ,
Thank you for your answer. Since I have a dryer I think I will stick with one Aerobika. I read the instructions for the bottle steamer more closely ( I need to read instructions over and over so I don't miss anything) and it said that after the sterilization and drying process it would stay sterile for 24 hours if the lid was not opened.
I will take you tip about the Seventh Generation. Some people on this thread use Dawn.
Thank you very much. It takes a long time to piece everything together.

The Aerobika manual states that, in addition to daily soaking, the device should be disinfected weekly giving a few different options. The respiratory specialist at UNC was horrified that I was following the manufacture's instruction and firmly stressed that I sterilize the Aerobika after each use along with the PARI nebulizer. The easiest way for me is to boil them. I have a designated pot and I boil the devices after every use.
I'm hoping to get some microwave bags for when I travel. Can anyone recommend some brands?

Hi Isabella,
The above link is for NJH. It tells you how to clean the Aerobika. I was not following Aerobika instructions.
I don't use microwave bags, but you can find that answer on this forum from past answers. Thanks for your answer.
Where is UNC?
Thanks ,

Ugh, I just ordered an Aeribika to replace my Acapella (after 6 months use) partly because the care instructions seemed so much less time consuming. Do you clean after every use and disinfect daily? Any ideas for van camping without electricity? I was diagnosed with bronchiectasis last March and we hoped to get back into camping next summer.
Pop-up camper person here. Two Aerobikas and 2 neb cups, a couple gallons of distilled water and some Dawn. Wash and rinse after each use, sterilize on the gas hot plate every week. We are only usually without electric for a couple days at a time, but 2 burner have propane stove. Next week we pick up a camper with solar too. New to us - not sure how much power we'll actually have.

One choice on the Aerobika instructions is Medela bags, available on Target.com. They are reasonably priced and one bag is good for 20 uses. I like them and they are very easy to use.
UNC is in Chapel Hill, North Carolina.
Hi
Thanks for letting me know what UNC stands for.
