Migraines

Posted by ladyjane85 @ladyjane85, Apr 26, 2016

For those of you with frequent migraines, not I, I just saw a good discussion and solution today on the TV program "The Doctors" April 26th if one has access to bring up the program on demand. There was a 15 year old with daily migraines who had 4 leads and a battery pack put into neck front and back and now has a good life. @ladyjane85

I have had migraines since I were 10 years old due to an accident I had,
and suffered severe head trauma. They are so bad I lose consciousness, and
throwing up the whole time. They can last up to 4 and 5 days. I usually
have to get shots to get any relief. I take Tylenol 4, every day with other
things. When I go to school once a month as an added bonus to what I have
majored in, my Dr. Will give me oxic. to be able to tolerate the pain. I
usually can't stay no more than two are three days. With my injures came
arthritis in my neck, vertebras 1, 3, an 7 . I do go to the Chiropractor
twice a month to help my pain, I do get relief for a few days with it. I
will always have pain, so I do my best to find some type of purpose in
life, myself, and in helping others. I have an appointment in a few months
with my neurologist to see if I have MS. I was told that I could just be
having repercussions from the head trauma, like scare tissue, which would
cause the same symptoms. I have a lot of leg trouble and a hard time
walking at times and they are in pain at all times. They gave me muscle
relaxers but I just take them at night because I don't want to be groggy
during the day, I'll take it during the day if I can't bear it. I hope and
pray you find something that will work for you. Because when the head is
sick your whole body is down.
I fell so confused the day before sometimes even say things backwards. It makes u fell so helpless there didn't seem to be anything that helps with the pain. Sometimes I also have to go to the emergency room they give me a shot of pain meds and send me home! My head will still hurt really bad but the medicine makes u not care and if your lucky you can sleep it off. Have u found anything that works for you?

I found that beutibaltal with codeine helps. I'm sure I spelled it wrong.
It was at a reasonable price for years and the last year it went up to
$.160.. I can't just take anything so he put me on Tylenol 4/ w, codeine,
and to take it as soon as I feel a migraine coming on. The only thing is I
could get one while I'm sleeping, and just like you it's like nothing help
and I feel like my head will blow!!! I to can't speak well and have stroke
like symptoms. I get really fearful. They will put me out for at least 4 to
5 days. When our head is sick our whole body is. I hate pain!! It seems
that this past week and the first of this week the weather has been bad and
it for some reason makes my pain even worse. My doctor had to prescribe me
some oxicotin. I can't hardly walk this week went Monday to Chiropractor,
it helps releave some of the pain. They wanted to put injections at the
areas I have scare tissue that was caused by the accident, but I refused
because if something were to rupture I wouldn't be aware because I couldn't
feel it. Hope one day we will never have them anymore. Salena
To be that sick for 4-6 days to feeling great is strange, but that is how it works. This past month I had my nerves burned off from L2-6 and this has helped more then any pills! I'm still getting them but not as often and not as bad ! Hav u ever tried this???
I had sever head trauma when I was young and suffered from repercussions as
my neurologist calls it. I've been living with the migraines and arthritis
in the first third and seventh vertebras, along with the lupus. I do a MRI
the end of this month to see if I have MS. I was told that became of my
head injury I could have the symptoms of MS due to scar tissue around that
area of my brain. I only pray I keep my right mind. When I'm tired I drag
my left side and I forget simple things like how to spell. My mom and her
family has an had RA, and I inherited that in hands, knees, feet, and
because of my deceased it's hard to walk. I try to do what I can in helping
myself in natural remedies for pain and discomfort, "but" I have to take a
narcotic drug when I can't take the pain. I want keep them here at home, I
call my doctor and he will prescribe what I need and give me a steroid
injection. I have lost 6 pounds since Monday. I weighed myself last night
because I noticed that my clothes were baggy. I bring my mom Tuesday
morning to my doctor so I'll ask him about it. I've been feeling pretty bad
this week anyway, my husband said that I have been doing to much lately, so
I guess I need to slow down. Hope you have a very blessed day!!!!!
Sharonmay7:I agree with you that the light get so loud, so does any noise.
I hear so much about the nerves being worked on for relief. I'm going to
talk to my Doctor about it. I know he didn't want to do the injection at
the base of my brain where the scar tissue is because he said if I would
have bleeding again I wouldn't know that it happened are about to. Now
that's a pain you can't explain! It has been 5 years that had happened.
They call my migraines, vascular migraines and if I don't get to the ER
when they are that bad a vessel will rupture. It usually happens when
everyone is at work. So if my family knows I'm suffering with a migraine,
my daughter and daughter-in- law will keep looking in a me(they all live on
our property). I can't help myself when I have a migraine, I have to have
help to get to the restroom and carrying a bucket and keep it by my side at
all times. I can pass out multiple times, my doctor told me that is the
bodies way of protecting you when you have any kind of pain that sever. I
usually have to stay in the ER for the day with shots and sedation, and
watch at that time. I panic when I feel one coming on, and I will take 2
Tylenol 4's and usually If it hasn't helped I call my daughter who works at
the hospital for three days and home health for the rest of the week. She
will go to my doctor who's office is by the hospital and he will give here
a prescription for opiate. I don't take them all the time because I rain
out my patches and my doctor was out of town an...... I detoxed for days,
when I finally went to the hospital I truly thought I would lose my mind.
So we made a system that works. When I go to Texas to school for a few days
he will fix me a care package for my pain and blood pressure, and all my
other problems.
Salena, well the dr. Said that when they burned of the nerves it would help with my other pain but WOULD NOT work for my migraines! But they were wrong!!!! It has helped with my headaches! So I guess they don't know everything!!!
Any I was told that my migraines were coming from the nerve damage that occurred because of having migraines!!!!!! If that true then every time I had a migraine (since age 16. ). It caused brain damage. I saw my MRI of my brain and it looked like a spotted fire dog! Not kidding there must Hav Ben at least 30 spots on my brain! Very scary!! It worries me about the future. Sharonmay7, I now how you feel, always praying that I keep my right mind.
After a bad migraine I do forget things, are when all the other sickness
flair ups attack I really have problems consatrating. Moms mother had
Alzheimer's and mom mom has it also. They were both diagnosed in their 70s.
With my head trauma, migraines, lupus and now possibly MS along with what's
inherited, I can only hope.
Hi,

From past experience of migraines (at least 2 a week), I've
been on all items from Chloral Hydrate, Nembutal (age 13),
Seconal, Fiorinal and Imitrix.

I noted a while back to my epileptologist that I had occasion
to face a hard stabbing like pain briefly in my head. He checked
that out at an appointment and couldn't find a cause, even
through my EEG and MRI.

The migraines have been gone for over 4 1/2 years now. What
did I do? When I felt this pain "I took my blood pressure and
often found it at or above 170/85--I contacted my Cardiologist
who had prescribed Losartan as needed and I took 20 mg. when
that pain happened. It went away.

Putting the things together with my doctors, we sought ways to
lessen stress, anxiety, depression, etc. The pain stayed away
as did the migraines and the Losartan has been used about 4 times
in 2 years equalling suseptability of high blood pressure.
