Do most people get the flu shot for seniors (the extra strong one?) without much side effects? Last year I got the flu shot but not the strong one. My arm did not even react which made me wonder if it took effect.
irene i'm going to talk to dr swenson about these on tuesday and i'll post what he suggests.......i never used to get any vacs at all...but i want to know what he thinks...now with Mac and Bx etc......might be wise to get them.

Yes Irene, I have received the flu shot for seniors for the past 8 yrs. without any particular side effects other than a sore arm. I have received the flu shot & my other vaccines at my PCP’s office or at various pharmacies. I just had my first shingles shot (kept putting it off) at the Publix Pharmacy & my arm was a bit sore for 2 days. My PCP told me to expect a more serious reaction to the 2nd dose which will be in 2-3 months! Take care, Linda

I am sure he will recommend them! But appreciate hearing his input. I just prefer to space them out knowing how strange my immune system is. Even with close to no exposure I at least will get flu and COVID and plan to work in Pneumonia vaccine. Shingles I have had and I know you can get it twice but your chances are less so will probably skip that one for the time being.

I had more of a reaction to the shingles shots than I've ever had to ANY other vaccine. Everyone is different so I hope your second shot goes easy on you. That said, the reaction you may have is WAY better than having shingles.

I get all the vaccines! I just got the RSV on Friday.
It’s helpful
Yes you can get shingles twice. I am finally rid of mine. It was the 2nd time in like 8 years. No pain, but a horrendous itch!

@bee1950 what reactions did you get?
Aches and shivers. Just felt like the flu for about 6-7 hours. I hope that doesn't happen to you!
