I have chronic nasal congestion and have to constantly clear my throat. I don’t have a lot of mucus in my throat, but my voice gets scratchy and hoarse. I have been taking Mucinex Dm for the post nasal drip, but it doesn’t seem to be helping.
walk4life, Perhaps you have reflux which can mimic mucous and consant throat clearing. It can also make you hoarse. Have you been to a gastrointestinal doctor to be checked for GERDS/Reflux? Sometimes folks can have "silent reflux" and are not even aware they have it. Just a thought. Prayers for you to get better.
Hi @walk4life. This sounds so simple but for me sucking on just couple vitamin c gummies seems to keep throat happy. Also box breathing when these symptoms start I found helps reset nervous system to reduce severity and hopefully prevent escalation of more symptoms. Hope helpful and healing journey to you🌈
I never thought about GERD as I don’t have any gi symptoms. I will look into this. Thank you.
walk4life, My M-I-L had silent reflux. No other gi symptoms. She constantly cleared her throat. I hope you find an answer and get some help for this. It's aggravating I am sure. Blessings & Prayers....
I have a constant nasal drip which leaves me with mucous that I can’t clear but I find OMNARS helpful. It can’t be used consistently but when at worse times it does help. At those bad times I buy Robitussin which thins the mucous and it makes clearing easier.
It’s an awful nuisance to be coughing all the time.
I also went on to lactose free dairies
I wish you well.
Same symptoms, check into silent reflux with a GI.
I have the same thing but it’s driving ME nuts. Can’t figure out what triggers it. Not sure if it’s acid reflux or something else that’s causing constant post nasal drip.
Silent reflux! I had these same symptoms nothing I took seemed to help. Once I was diagnosed with silent reflux and that was treated my symptoms got better.
How did you get the diagnosis?
