Anyone experience Post-Covid Inflammatory Arthritis?

Posted by leezer @leezer, Apr 7, 2021

Has anyone here experienced an increase in joint pain, elevated sed rate post Covid? I have been told I have a type of inflammatory arthritis post infection. Methyltrexate injections for 4 months has not really brought about a BIG improvement.

@bettyz

What were the 4 anti-inflammatory supplements you were given?

BettyZ - I answered your question about my supplements, but I don’t think it was as a reply to you. I thought it was, but now I’m not sure.

Had pretty bad osteoarthritis before having COVID two times. First time was Jan 2021..no vacs. Second time was May 2022 after having two Moderna vacs. My arthritis is much worse now with long COVID especially in my lower legs . What has helped me the most is naltrexone low dose and methylene blue. Also fluctuating oxygen levels . Taking physical therapy twice a week to build endurance back.

I had a very mild case of COVID and 3 months later was diagnosed with PMR and prednisone was a life saver. After a few weeks my hands began to burn, then became swollen and painful. My diagnosis was changed to inflammatory arthritis. I have been on hydroxychloroquine for many months and it seems to have helped me taper to 2 mg of prednisone. However, I continue to have quite a bit of swelling in my knuckle area and quite a lot of pain, especially in the morning. My rheumatologist has now added methotrexate to the mix thinking it will help tame the inflammation. Hopeful.

I developed rheumatoid arthritis after the COVID Booster shot. I have bloodwork with no RA markers before the shot and the RA marker was positive after the booster. No confirmed family history of RA - just osteoarthritis.

The methotrexate wasn’t strong enough and they moved me to that plus a biologic 3 months ago.

I’m angry because my job guilt tripped us all into taking the booster as I work for a local government.

Becoming had COVID 8/23. Since that time I have had extreme pain in my right shoulder, and both leg joints at the hip. What can I do or where should I go for relief? I suspected it was COVID related, but found this site and I am now convinced this is the case. Becoming worse daily….. HELP PLEASE

I have severe enthesis in both Achilles and seronegative arthritis in knees and left elbow after a virus ( initially tested negative for COVID at home) in March 2022. The rapid onset of joint pain and enthesis are horrible and unresponsive to everything except prednisone. I have tried all the biological and other RA and PA approaches. It has moved so fast and I cannot seem to get anyone to understand that it feels like a creeping vine taking over its host. Currently taking celebrex but that is offering precious little pain relief. I went from walking the dog a couple miles a day to not being able to walk to my car. I’m beyond frustrated and feeling pretty hopeless.
