What are the best methods for removing plaque from the artery?
What procedure are being tested?
I have seen on the net that they are working on a device that can be inserted in the vain and will grind off plaque.
Also a drug that can be used to dissolve.
Is there any way to remove it after it has stuck to the vane?

@drankin Make sure you dont dwell on this as your emotion,s will affect your body ,I would suggest you add magnesium good for the heart and all organs ,exercise program but what your dooing sounds good just the stuff a Mom does is alot my daughter used a running stroller so her and baby got out.
Cut out as much sugar as you can, take a good EFA and Coq10 ( ubiquinol )
I appreciate the response. I workout 5 days a week (2 of them with a trainer) and have for the past 4 years, so that is no new news to me. Have done it for a long time, and have no desire to discontinue that regimen. We eat pretty healthy, except a couple days a week where we eat out, so that could improve. It was the genes and the smoking that did the damage, and I know the smoking has to go (on day #3 without a cig). I was wondering more on the end of being proactive doctoring, vitamins, etc.
Thank you for the advice! My doc said fish oil really isn't suggested anymore (not that it would hurt anything to take it, but it just isn't pushed like it use to be). And I hadn't even thought about Coq10. Thank you!!
Thank you @lioness! I appreciate this! I am super stressed out, and I know this isn't helping at all. I needed someone to say to keep my emotions in check. It's just scary. It just made me feel like I've been given a sentence really.
You can read "The Spectrum" by Dean Ornish, M.D., "Prevent and Reverse Heart Disease" by Caldwell B. Esselstyn, M.D., and/or "The Super Carb Diet" by Bob Harper. I wish I could say there is a cure. I was diagnosed with CAD last year and at this point I'm just trying to avoid a heart attack or stroke. I'm 68, quit smoking in 1988, worked a high stress job until last year when I retired, and although I ate a low fat diet I ate alot of sugar. I was unable to reduce my cholesterol with diet & exercise so I've taken a statin for approx. 18 years. This year I started taking Crestor to the horror of my family and friends. (Both parents had heart disease.) So.... I stopped eating meat, cut back on dairy, fat, and sugar. I'm trying to manage my stress level and walk more. You have the advantage of being young. Good luck.
