What are the best methods for removing plaque from the artery?

What are the best methods for removing plaque from the artery?
What procedure are being tested?
I have seen on the net that they are working on a device that can be inserted in the vain and will grind off plaque.
Also a drug that can be used to dissolve.
Is there any way to remove it after it has stuck to the vane?

My mom used to make salmon croquettes. After mixing the canned salmon (she NEVER did use fresh for whatever reason) with eggs, saltines, some salt & pepper, she proceeded to pan fry them. She never supplied a sauce. Perhaps had she we might have liked them even better. Turkey seems to have little or no taste, so do you season your turkey burgers?

Hello, good people. I am scheduled, soon, for carotid artery surgery... to remove plaque buildup. I would like to know "What is considered to be "full recovery from carotid artery surgery"?
I learned about the plaque buildup... during preparation for Hip Replacement Surgery. My hip is so damaged... that I can barely walk. And... I need the carotid surgery.... before... the hip replacement surgery.
So... I wonder how "my weakened condition because of my damaged hip" will affect the carotid artery surgery recovery?
And... I wonder "how much recovery time will be needed (from the carotid surgery)... before I can safely undertake Hip Replacement Surgery?

@jittery After my CAD surgery I was in the hospital 5,days and did 6,weeks of recovery mainly walking every day for 45,minutes each day Of course Went back to cardiologist after 3weeks

@eileena He I use Sat,Pepper and some garlic put Tomato ,small amt.mayonnaise on it .

It helps to visit a Naturopath to get the actual names and doses you will need. But, first let me tell you some ATP building blocks. You might recognize one of them, CoQ10, D-Ribos and Carnitine. I have had plaque surgically removed from arteries feeding my legs. Be careful with stents as they are good initially but then can be a source for future plaque build up. I'm told take no external calcium and to get my dad cholesterol as low as possible. My good and bad cholesterol are about the same--I know unbelievable but it can be done.

Recently shown my high Cardiac Calcium score or 1943 , therefore CAD is present . What are my choices.

I am 37 years old and had a CT Cardiac Scoring done this week, with a score of 189, which is WAY TOO high for a person of my age. My blood work has always been fine, I work out 5 days a week and have always eaten healthy (with exceptions of course). I have big time heart problems on both sides of my family and I have been a smoker for years (obviously quitting now - doctors orders of course). So genetics and smoking have been my factors. My doctor said to quit smoking, eat right, exercise, etc., but that there was no reversing the damage that has already been done. I am, of course, pretty shaken by all of this (I am a new mom to a 3 month old baby) and am looking for any suggestions besides the ones the doc gave me to try to improve this situation. They don't want to start any statins, etc, with me, as I am of child bearing age and cannot be on any if I decide to have more children. Any advice is welcomed!

@drankin- My suggestions would focus on eating right and reduce portions. I know for me that helped tremendousely to shed the extra pounds that I had that put extra pressure on my body. The next thing would be to start a regular exercise program. So many today their health insurance allows them access to a gym membership, but if that is not available there are many exercises that you get find on line or get from your physican. I try to walk 3x a week and have got up to 3.5 miles in about 1 hr. & 15 minutes.
Start off with 15 min. 3x a week for a couple of weeks and bump it up to 30 minutes and keep moving up to an hour. During the inclement weather you can go to a mall if the weather chases you inside. The point is developing healthy habits not only produces better health, but also a better sense of well being. That's hard to measure, but is a big deal! Good luck to you in all your endeavors!
