Does anyone know a good pulmonologist in Connecticut
I spent 2 hours trying to find a pulmonologist that knows about bronchiectasis and Mac, I have no clue. My current pulmonologist canceled my 6 month appointment and put me off until end of Aug. she is very dismissive and shoots down my questions. I wanted to ask her about saline but she will probably not agree with that either. She told me the vest is for when the lungs get real bad, which will come in time. I asked about getting a CT scan this year and she said last years was same at 2009 Ct scan so no need. If this isn’t important than why am I struggling with all the meds from my ID doc? Frustrated and would love to find a pulmonologist that understands this diagnosis.

Is Yale near you? I recall that Yale has a good pulmonary department.
Thanks, Yale is about an hour away, if that’s the closest, it doable. I’m not a city girl so I try to avoid New Haven.
If you search this forum for Connecticut you might see other options
Dr Metersky is the head of the bronchiectasis center at UConn. Personable and an expert. If you do decide to go to New Haven, Dr. Ashley Losier at Yale specializes in Bronchiectasis and NTM. Also Dr. Delacruz but I believe he’s doing mostly research now. I saw him years ago for a second opinion and he is lovely guy.
Best,

I see Dr. Bazan with Yale. With her for a year and a half and cleared me of MAC.
I hired a driver to take me into New Haven.
Where in Connecticut are you? I live in Eastern Connecticut and go to UMASS which is 30 minutes from my home. Yale is excellent, but UMASS has excellent pulmonary and ID doctors who work as a team.
UMASS is also very easy to get to as it is right off the highway in Worcester near Assumption. I have been with them for several years now. I understand about not being a city gal. We lived in Storrs for years about a mile from UCONN and now are in Dayville. Good luck! (irene5)
That is good info to know Linda. Thank you. @irene5
Where do you live?
I had a wonderful doc specializing in Bronchieactasis at UConn health center in Farmington. He was cautious and not alarmist and very thorough.
Thank you, I live in Eastern CT so Farmington and UMASS are both okay. My current pulmonologist appt. is Aug. 1st, if I can get an appointment with someone new by then I'll cancel, otherwise, I may go see what she says and challenge her.
