New antidepressant: Has anyone tried Auvelity?

Anyone know the name of new antidepressant, approved by FDA, that's supposed to be available at end of this year?

Hi. Do you know about the Auvelity Savings Card? Go to the website. With that, I only pay $10 a month. Insurance wanted to charge me $85. It's a great deal. Good luck!

I had already checked it out but from what I read it is not available to anyone on Medicare or Medicaid.

Hello,
I have never been involved in this sort of community, but have to join in because I have just started taking dextromethorphan and buproprion. I have decreased duloxetine down to 15 mgs. So that I could begin taking the equivalent of Auvelity. I was fine in the 60 mgs. Of duloxetine except for the sexual side effects. I am now on day six of dex/buproprion.
So far - mood wise- I am ok but feel lightheaded and Wolsey for most of the day. It feels like I have had waaay too much caffeine. For the person who is on medicaid, the reduced price coupon for Auvelity is not valid if you have any type of government insurance (I am on Medicare and can’t get the price reduced) I even called the axsome company to complain.
So my dr sent a prescription to a compounding pharmacy for the 45mg dextromethorphan and I just buy the buproprion commercially from a regular pharmacy. Auvelity is over $500/month otherwise and I can’t afford it. I’ll see if this works and keep you all posted.

How much is the compounded dextramorphan?
I was considering trying that route

Auvelity. I think this is what you're talking about....bupropion and dextromethorphan.

Yes, I am taking it. I’ve been on almost every anti depressant in the past 30 years. This is the second time I’ve taken it this month because it did elevate my blood pressure and I was a little worried about that but I restarted it for days ago and I really feel good today. It does make me drowsy so trying to decide if I should take my second dose tonight at bedtime just to see how that will go anyway unless I have some other terrible side effects I think this is going to be a winner

I started this last week. I am feeling a little better depression wise but after each pill I get extremely tired and fall asleep for at least an hour or so. Has anyone else experienced this? Hoping that it goes away.

Hi everyone. I have treatment resistant depression. I was first medicated at 13 (I suspect I was a normal moody teen) and I’m 43. Thirty years and 18 medications. 2 hospital stays. CBT, DBT, EMDR. Talk therapy twice a month. Ketamine therapy. Last week I met with my psych and told him I’ve lost all hope.
He suggested Auvelity. Now, Wellbutrin on its own was unpleasant for me but he said it’s different how they work together.
So, today is my 3rd day. I’ve had some nausea and insomnia. I will very tentatively say that I feel my mood is significantly better. I’m cautiously optimistic.
I will keep you posted on my experience.

Thanks for posting; I have always responded for a week or two to bupropion but it stops working. This might be an alternative.

Yes - I did not respond well to it on it’s own and was actually scared to try Auvelity for that reason, but I don’t have any of the side effects that I did with it alone.

I started taking Auvelity 7 days ago. I'm happy to say it's really helping with both my anxiety and depression, but more so with my lack of motivation and energy. It started working fast but be prepared for wellbutrin-ish side FX namely edginess and wirey feelings the first several days. After researching Auvelity I decided to ask my MD to prescribe and he hadn't even heard of it yet, I got a savings card from the website as it's not on my insurance formulary of course.
It's day 8 and I feel brighter, less anxious, energized, focused, with less nerve pain as well. I was feeling terrible before and couldn't tolerate any of the psych meds - 2 days in I would quit the side fx were so bad. I have used a 1/4 mg of clonazepam on a few of the days to take the edge off the side fx and that helps. I also still take my gabapentin. I tried going up to twice a day with the Auvelity but could not get to sleep.
