I am having a VERY difficult time with Klonipin withdrawal

I’m not sure where you are looking but tolerance is ( a thing) and hitting drug immunity is also ( a thing ) it doesn’t happen to everyone ? I’ve been on them for 10 years .. obviously,,the post I’m replying to has also hit ( clonazepam immunity) I hope to god that you and your friends ..you mentioned don’t ever hit this ..,I take only 1.5 mgs a day ..,not a lot .. but it doesn’t matter what the dosage and I’ve never abused them bc I would have to wait until next refill ..so that would be or could be deadly !

I tapered off clonazepam after being on it for four years. I used the Ashton method which has helped many people . You can find it online. It’s a safe slow taper. It took me 5 months to taper off of 1mg. It was hard I’m not going to lie but a lot has changed in my health for the better. I still have anxiety I’m working on that. But I can tell you I have a ton of energy I can exercise again and seriously my vision is brighter and clearer.

I applaud you first of all. It is a tough journey, but keeping going. With time it will become better. 40 years of Valium prescriptions and 7 months off Valium. I plan on a successful recovery.

Well …knock on wood for me but I haven’t touched a cpam for 4 weeks today ! I ended up with shingles , which led to nerve pain ( mild ?) dr prescribed this newer medicine out called Pregabalin… I’ve heard of gabapentin..,but this is still a form of it . They said it wouldn’t kick in for 2 weeks . So into 2nd week it felt better but more importantly? I didn’t go through wds ? So obviously? This drug ( nerve pain ) is made up with the same chemical makeup as benzos ? Mine be klonopin… and as of today .. Saturday July 8 /2023 I tapered down after the 4 weeks ) from pregabalin.. I had one day ( 1st day mostly ) I went down from 4-3 ( 75 mgs ) per day and I thought oh oh …so I’ve luckily overpassed the wds from klonopin… but after 8 weeks I’m going to still get them with this nerve pain drug ? But no .,and I was reassured by all pharmacists and my dr , they all said “ no no don’t give up on tapering from pregabalin! It’s so much easier to taper from ) 1 week vs. 12 months .. of horror .. so I’m down to only 2 pregabalin capsules per day … no wds today but I’m still going to stay here now until Monday and then down to one than hopefully nothing ?? 🤞 I only write this bc no one has ever told me that I could trade klonopin for another drug ( in my case pregabalin) by sheer accident ..mild nerve pain .,lol. So if I stayed any longer on this pregabalin, I’m sure I’d be in the same boat . So tapering and getting off ..,This seemed like the lazy way out of 10 years of addicted to klonopin. If it works for me ? I’m sure it would work for someone else . But I’ve been told so far they’re just using pregabalin to help while tapering . In my case ? It was just one for the other ? And then a slow taper off of the other ( but do not stay on long , just long enough that you know klonopin or any of benzo you may addicted to .. is out of your system .,I waited ( 4) weeks to be sure ..Im sure I can help someone with this …,I really do . But not tapering ? There’s no need .. unless when they switch them over and wait the two weeks , you’ll know when lol ) bc you’re not craving ? But after 3 weeks and pregabalin isn’t helping? Remember you have to not touch whatever benzo you’re on. To really see after 2 weeks that youre ok without them .. some people could be on higher dosage than me ? Or didn’t get enough dosage of pregabalin ( my 4 pills per day were 300 mgs per day .. sorry for long message .. and I’ll let you know by updating … but so far ? I think this is going to work ?🙏🙏🙏 they told me that I accidentally found out bc they here (ns) are not seeing any drs trading off for pregabalin switchover to help .., only tapering …. Not sure why ? There have been clinical studies done on it stating as long as you keep pregabalin low and after benzo my case ( klonopin) is 4 weeks out of system than start tapering right away …. Before you’re right back in the same boat you were in .👍👍❤️ And ask dr ! Keep in mind I had hit immunity .. so only taking cpam to keep wds away …. Not a good way to live my life .. it’s like a break ? Bc I don’t have any wds yet today ( while tapering off new drug ) nothing so far ? Good luck …and I’ll keep update ..haven’t thrown the cpam yet ..lol just in case ..

Ty very much .. and I applaud you as well . The feeling you must have, not to be always thinking about pills etc … well I may have a way out … lol All be accident . Ok I’ll be quick … came down with Shingles , after shingles ,,nerve pain . They gave me some ( relatively new ) called pregabalin. After 1 week and a few days ? I realized I haven’t taken my clonazepam today and I realized ? I had no reason to and haven’t had one for 4 weeks now yeah !! But they’re started already tapering from the pregabalin after I found out it too could be addictive . So I switched cpam for pregabalin, it obviously has a similar makeover . And rn I’m on my last two days of tapering from pregabalin! No problem at all ? So far . I had a few wds yesterday when I went from 4-3 but today I’m only on two no wds so far and taking this dosage for a few days . I’ll update ..Again .. very hard thing to come away from .. it’s horrible. I hope you gave your back a big pat 👍👍

Thank you , Tom and I know exactly what you mean …. I just want to be me again . Bc I have forgotten “ Me off of clonazepam “ lol 10 yrs .. I hope this Pregabalin will work .. It’s been 4.5 weeks since 1 cpam … now I’ve only been on Pregabalin for approx. 6 weeks . However , when I started to taper from 4 capsules per day to 3 .. same terrible wds as clonazepam… it def must be the same kind of drug ? Pregabalin is not my drug of choice but now im stuck and they can’t taper slowly bc they don’t have tablets in Canada yet ? Or so the pharmacist told me . Im on 2 per day but in between each capsule when it wears off .. it back come the wds ? Then I start to get tired of feeling “ crumby “ I know you have to be a little more patient but it’s hard … Pregabalin makes you feel like a zombie ? Who talks too much and as you can see types too much ! 😂 blurred vision ! Really shouldn’t drive while you’re on them . But I still have all of the side effects after 6 weeks , can remember what I got up for and constantly have to think for a couple of seconds before I can remember the name of someone or the place we just visited ..,that was scary ? I actually had to think about it , Jamaica 2 months ago . So yeah … I’m finished with these tomorrow . I’ll try to taper with the last one and see how it goes . If not crazy wds like klonopin.. I will try and fight through them .. but if it continues into the next day .. I can’t . And I’m not staying on these crazy drugs ! Wow ? So it will be back to my refill . I thought the Pregabalin would be so much easier . I’m only on 150 mgs now and .75 mgs tomorrow and maybe 1 more the next day . I’ll keep you updated and let you know how I made out by Wednesday .
