Uveitis and Covid vaccine
I developed uveitis in my right eye this spring. It cleared after about two months of steroid and non steroid anti inflammatory eye drops. I had the most recent Covid booster on June 9. On June 13 i noticed a slight pain in that eye and mild light sensitivity. If it continues, I will call my eye doctor. However, I am out of town for another 3 weeks. I did some google research and found a study that reported various eye problems after Covid vaccines. Now I am wondering if I will have to skip any future Covid booster. Anyone else with similar problems ?

Sever dry eye developed within 6 days of my Covid injection. Horrible to treat. Am now of Regener Eye, Low dose Naltrexone eye drops and just started Xiidra. Good luck. hope your case is mild.
I have a history of PsA & severe Uveitis in both eyes, treated with Prednisolone drops & injections….now on Orencia infusions (taken Remicade, Humira, Otezla, Coseyntex..),which have helped to keep it at bay, for the most part. For what it’s worth, I have had 7 COVID vaccines to date…none have triggered a flare of Uveitis.
None of my covid vaccines or boosters caused problems like uveitis, just the usual side effects. I did have minor uveitis from catching covid, and also through time from immune flareups with various autoimmune diseases. Check your eye meds and make sure that glaucoma is not a potential side effect (eye drops that I was on 15 years ago caused minor damage). I mostly just use regular eye drops (not the "get the red out" ones) to rinse my eyes a few times a day. The inflammation goes away in a day or two. It was always in one eye, not both, which is more indicative of inflammation than bacterial infection (pink eye).
When I was using the prednisone drops I had to see the ophthalmologist every two weeks so that they could check for glaucoma. So far my problem has been in one eye. What otc eye drops do you use? I have a scheduled appointment with the retina specialist next month.
When I initially saw my eye doctor for my problem in my right eye, she asked if I had been vaccinated. At the time I did not not pursue follow up questions about that.
I mostly use Visine Dry Eye Relief, and sometimes Refresh Tears if I have grit in my eyes (I'm a woodturner, and a respirator and eye protection keeps most things out).
I just saw my eye doctor. I am back on the steroid eye drops and an anti inflammatory eye drop. Now both eyes are affected and according to my eye exam the left eye is worse.it was not previously involved. They are going to refer me to a rheumatologist to evaluate for auto immune disorders. My eye dr. Said I should not het any more Covid vaccines. I have my follow up with the retina specialist next week and I will see what he says.
