Collagen for osteoporosis?
My friend's medical doctor has her take collagen for her bones. I decided to try it and wondered if anyone knows more than I do about this.

Does anyone know what I can take for a fractured foot ? I am getting Evinity injections 1 x a month . Take Caltrate . Starting taking Collagen . I can’t take Vit D . I already have that in my Caltrate . I am taking Nutra Dyn . Fruits and greens . Dr said K 2 . Nope . Endocrinologist said I don’t need it . Studies show it doesn’t do what they thought. My foot has been fractured in 2 places since Sept 29, 2022 . Non weight bearing for up until last month
. Now prescribed a Bone Stimulator . I’m drinking almond milk . Eating leafy greens . Everything I. need to . I’m about ready to just give up . Anything else I can take ? Thanks
Evenity is pretty potent! Hope you have good results. You might want to take more Vitamin D. Everyone is different. While on bone-growing meds I have been taking 3,000 units of Vitamin D because I read that Tymlos "eats Vitamin D." My level has stayed stable on that dose. I take 45mcg K2 as well (gummies).
What was your Vitamin D3 level when tested?
Thank you for your input. The brand of collagen you are taking with all 5 types. Thank you and continued health.
Would you please tell me the brand of collagen that has all 5 types?

@bruceandruth, I think you might find Sue's @sueinmn post earlier in this discussion helpful. Here is a link to her post - https://connect.mayoclinic.org/comment/785572/. In the post she shared the following references that you might find helpful.

My wife and I both use the Vital Proteins brand which contains type 1 collagen but more for skin and nails health which it does seem to be helping quite a bit according to my better half. I'm sure there are other brands just as good. I normally look for good reviews and the lower costs.
Thank you for the info. I appreciate your reply.
Good Morning~
I've been taking CODEAGE for about 8 months now....unflavored. It disappears in my coffee....I feel good taking it. Now looking into adding MCT oil. Let me know what you think. Have a wonderful day!
yes..I'll be 79 this Oct...realizing that I've been taking this collagen for a few years now. I also added in Saw Palmetto...no bad info for women taking it and it seems to be very beneficial for us older gals....also looking into MCT oil...hmmm.....very interesting info on this..especially for brain health.
I have noticed that the 'spots' on the back of my hands have almost totally gone away..yay! hugs to you...
